“Excellent stay for a taste of rural France”
Saint Genies de Fontedit is a quaint and pretty village surrounded by vineyards and the property itself is lovely and full of character. Our hosts Freddy and Noura were very helpful and gave us tips on what to do, activites etc. in the surrounding area. For a true taste of rural France this is a great place to visit. Beziers is 25 minutes away by bus. Car advised for going around the different areas around the village.

“Excellent holiday stay in a wonderful village”
We spent a very enjoyable week at Les Remparts. M. and Mme. Rueda were extremely welcoming, even providing a bottle of the local wine (to which their own vines contribute) to toast our arrival. The house is extremely well appointed, and every necessity is provided for a pleasant stay. The gite is spacious and can accommodate a large family or group of friends, yet as a couple we felt very comfortable. With walls of original stone and rough hewn beams showing the home’s history, it is nevertheless finished to a modern standard. The kitchen/lounge area on the top floor opens onto a marvelous terrace complete with table, chairs, barbeque and even a shower! We spent many happy hours listening to the birds sing as we watched both sunrise and sunset over the vineyards and surrounding hills. The view is amazing, the air so clear you can see for miles! There is plenty to do in the area, from nature hikes, white water rafting and biking, to shopping and museums in the nearby city of Beziers or other large towns in the area. The Ruedas provide plenty of information about all the nearby attractions and transportation schedules, to plan your adventures. The village of St. Genies de Fontedit is a medieval circulade village with more than 1,000 years of history, with well-planned walking tours and interesting sign posts pointing out historical sites like the 13th Century church and the Frog Fountain in the main square. We truly enjoyed our one-week stay and hope to return again. We highly recommend this gite.

“beautifully modernised traditional village house with balcony views to the south”
A beautifully modernised apartment over three levels in a traditional village house. The spacious interior is clean and modern with the main open plan living area on the upper floor with a sunny balcony giving fine unobstructed views over the villages and vinyards to the south. We very much enjoyed our stay and can thoroughly recommend the Ramparts. The village is a very pleasant traditional one with narrow streets of attractive traditional stone built houses. Freddy the owner is friendly and we found him super to deal with.
