This past Fourth of July weekend, my family and I rented this cabin in the Catskills.
Having e-mailed with the owners several times before our trip, we had a detailed House Manual in hand, and because of that and the good pictures of the place online, we pretty much knew what to expect. What we didn’t expect was the attention to detail that Stefan and Sean have paid to furnishing, decorating, and appointing their lovely cabin. It is an eclectic mix of knotty pine, Staffordshire, and glass.
We spent a delightful three days at the place. My newly-engaged daughter and her fiancé took advantage of several locations on the gorgeous property for their engagement photo shoot, even venturing out onto a fallen log bridge over the creek on which the cabin sits, where my other daughter snapped some great shots. We very much enjoyed the glass-enclosed dining area overlooking the creek and woods beyond where we also played games and cards.
Even though it rained part of the 4th of July weekend, we welcomed the time indoors around the cozy fireplace, playing and singing music, sampling Stefan and Sean’s bookshelves, and cooking up a storm on the gas range and outdoor grill.
We were not there long enough to do so much the area offers in food, entertainment, and activities, but honestly, we were happy staying in most of the time enjoying each other, the ambient sound of running water, and the very good sound system. What a great getaway from the stresses of work! We had a terrific time and hope to return in the future. Carol
