“Lovely cottage in a great location”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2020

Home farm is a lovely cosy cottage in a great location, we visited Blenheim Palace (Just a nice walk away through the palace grounds) and the lovely towns of Woodstock and Witney and we did the short trip to Bicester for a good days shopping at the Bicester Village and then finished off our stay with a day out in the fabulous city of Oxford (taxi or bus ride away) Oxford has amazing architecture and there are plenty of things to see and do. All of our days out were finished off relaxing in the cottage in the evening with a glass of wine curled up in the living room in front of the log burner, the bedrooms are spacious and comfy and there is everything you need in the cottage for a great stay. Kelvin & Kate make you feel so welcome and are on hand next door if you need anything. We would definitely stay at home farm again if we revisit the area. “Great Cottage for a country getaway”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2016

Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage set in Bladon and within 2 minutes walk of the grounds of Blenheim Palace. The cottage is beautifully presented with big spacious rooms that are well furnished and full of character. The cottage is clean and the bathrooms are good. A great Kitchen for cooking in and if you prefer to go out there are loads of great pubs/restaurants in a 5 mile radius the nearest of which are in Woodstock which is a beautiful old market town. The owners were very helpful and live next door. We will be staying again

“Charming village, spacious flat”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2014

We loved our stay at the Home Farm Cottage. We had four adults on vacation visiting my son at Oxford. There was plenty of room for all of us and ample privacy. The kitchen is very large and well stocked with everything we needed to cook in or bring food in. The furniture is all comfortable, sturdy and plentiful. The bedrooms are quite large and well furnished. We met Kelvin, our host, and his lovely family the first night we arrived. He showed us around the house and explained all the features. The wood stove was stocked with wood and matches, and the warm fire in the mornings provided a nice atmosphere. Some of the windows are not sealed well but this is to be expected on a house this age. I expect it could be more of an issue in the winter, though we really didn't have any trouble keeping warm in late October. One of the showers is a little unusual and care must be taken to avoid collecting water on the floor and in the window sill. But all the plumbing and bathroom fixtures are quite modern and appear to be in great shape. My son stayed overnight with us for a couple of nights, and Kelvin was very accommodating providing extra linens, towels and pillows for use with a cot which we noticed in the back storage. There's a lovely pub within walking distance about 100 yards down the road. The food there is quite decent, better than we expected, and the proprietor is very friendly. Blenheim Palace can be accessed just around the corner from the pub on foot and there are many paths available for running or walking. We found it a bit harrowing to turn out of the driveway onto the main road without scraping the fence posts, but that is probably more to do with our unfamiliarity the large rental car and right-hand driving than anything else. A convex mirror across the road might be helpful to better observe oncoming traffic, though. The flat is very tastefully decorated in the style of a period farm house, but the fixtures and conveniences are all modern and in good working order. The house is in a residential area. The road out front gets a lot of traffic, but the large front yard is enclosed by a fence and the traffic noise was never issue for us.

“A super place to stay”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2014

Home Farm Cottage is a lovely place to stay with great en suite rooms, very well appointed and very comfortable. Really liked the character and feel of the house. All things were in place for us including a welcome basket and beautiful flowers and the owners are incredibly helpful and welcoming. Lots to do in the area and good transport links. Nearby shops and restaurants and a pub within walking distance too. Some road noise but quiet at night.

“Perfect tranquil property with everything you need”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2014

We booked a last minute stay at the Home Farm Cottage and couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Kelvin was most welcoming and even managed to organise some basic provisions (tea, coffee, milk, eggs etc), despite having such little notice of our arrival! The home itself is fantastic, very large with lovely decorations, incredibly comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. The location is right next to Blenheim Castle and within easy distance of Woodstock which has lovely pubs and restaurants (which Kelvin recommended some great ones for us to sample). Overall, an excellent stay and we would love to go back for a longer trip next time!
