“Excellent experience!” What a wonderful experience! We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday and we couldn't have felt more at home. “A tale of two” The good story: The place is really nice with modern equipment and a great terrace. The location is stunning with great views to the RTJ golf course and good connections to the mainland. The not so good story: We arrived late to a house, which hadn't been cleaned. Towels on the floor, unmade beds etc. It took us a good two hours to get hold of the owner. He managed to get the place cleaned while we ate at a restaurant. All ended well - but it does show a tiny lack of attention from the owner, which isn't very professional. A gas grill without gas adds to this picture. I can only assume the owner is more alert now about these issues, and if so, I have no problem in recommending the place.

“Great weekend getaway at a great price!” The condo is kept very clean and the host provides lots of great amenities. It is also one of the more affordable options available in the area. “The view from the deck was addictive all times of day.” Our week at Edisto in the Deann cottage was just what I'd hoped for--beautiful view, easy beach access, flat beach with no breakwaters, comfortable sitting area, and best of all, the quiet. No dune buggies, no loud parties, no noise at all, except surf and birds. Not even any airplanes! The weather could not have been better: sunny and warm, but not hot. Our guests were comfortable on the extra beds in the living area, and our dogs had a good time too, walking on the beach. I wanted to stay longer. One thing I would change is the bedside lamp in the smaller of the two bedrooms. The lampshade is taped on with scotch tape, and the bulb was too dim for reading. Actually, the bulbs in all the lamps were pretty dim. My eyes need brighter lights. And some of the stove eyes did not work. I don't remember if we turned in a sheet mentioning that. Otherwise the kitchen was fine. When we first arrived the house smelled very strongly of perfumed cleaner, but fortunately the smell faded quickly. All considered, this was a very pleasant vacation and I hope we can come back next year--maybe not to this same cottage, but something similar.

“Another Great stay at the blockhouse!!” This our third year staying at the Blockhouse and it gets better each time. It is a very clean comfortable beach house with unbelievable sunsets over the water. It has three large bedrooms upstairs (all with great views of the beach). The downstairs master is great for a couple with kids (a room off of the master has a single and trundle). The kitchen is very well stocked and it has both gas and charcoal grills. The beach is wide and not crowded. The outdoor shower is wonderful after coming off of the beach. Upgrades were made each year we stayed here (the bathrooms were updated from last year). Overall I would highly recommend this beach house - it has a large room for everyone to gather and a large upper deck and a sunroom if you want some alone time.

“Roomy” A girlfriend and I stayed in this condo for a week. It was well furnished, clean, but in need of a paint job. Here are some pros and cons... Pros: dual air conditioning controls, great beds, bathroom downstairs, flat screen TV, free bikes, free tennis, nice pool, plenty of dishes, glasses, etc, plenty of room Cons: no ceiling fans, low lights/dark, masterbath shower slow to drain, had to pay for parking pass (+$15) Being of a certain age, we decided that we really need ceiling fans! Who knew! Kevin was very good to deal with, responded promptly, and had an excellent cancellation policy (did not have to use but have an 88 year old father-in-law...). We did not use bikes (rained daily), pool, or tennis since all we wanted to do was sit on beach and shop. However, it was nice to have that option. Would be a good place for people with children.

“relaxing weekend” This home is awesome. The owners made sure we were well informed and the whole experience was just SMOOTH!! Very quiet and relaxing. “Great place for R & R” We have stayed at Carolina Jessamine before. Close to the beach yet on a quiet and serene street. Tastefully and very well appointed...very comfortable. The screened porch is a superb place to eat, read, and just relax. This is my husband and I's favorite rental at Edisto Beach! And my husband adds, the TV is awesome!
