“Outstanding location” As noted in many other reviews, a very spacious and comfortable apartment. Views from the front sitting room across the main street to the beach and the sea. Incredible views from the back patio up to Ravello. A small but functional kitchen with pretty much everything you'd need. Just a really pleasant place to stay. Located right in town in Minori, where everything is an easy walk. Pasicceria Del Riso is literally downstairs (the front windows look out over the seating of Del Riso) and there are a number of small grocers, a few butchers, a fishmonger, and a fresh pasta shop in town as well as several good restaurants. There might have been more variety in a larger town, but the comparative quiet and lack of tourist influx during the day made Minori a very pleasant place. A bit noisier than we were expecting at night, both due to the main street abutting the property and the bars below. And of course, the church immediately behind running its bells. Service from Franco & from Ravello accommodations was helpful and courteous, including arranging transfer from Salerno. We did without a car, which was the right decision for us (narrow roads, traffic & construction), but somewhat limiting. Bus service was semi-regular (not actually following the posted schedule very well) and frequently so crowded that you had to crush onto the bus and stand. That wouldn't normally be a worry, but on winding roads and with young children, it was less than ideal. Ferries and water taxis were no longer coming to Minori due to the end of season timing of our trip (something we should have realized), which also limited our options - though Maiori is a short walk for more options. Which is perhaps the best thing about the area - walking through the lemon groves and vineyards on the hill sides overlooking the sea to the neighboring towns and villages. My only real critique of the property would be that more information on walks and restaurants would have been welcome.

“paradiso” La Loggia was even better than I anticipated and I can't wait for my 3rd visit. The apt. has every convenience and is elegantly furnished and immaculate. The bathrooms are beautiful, and modern. Spending time on the terrace, at any hour, overlooking the bay and the historic landscape is blissful. The owners are extremely responsive and have insured that all goes well. The town of Minori and its residents are a wonderful part of the amalfi Coast.

“Amazing memories” I hesitated to write a review about this villa because I wanted to be selfish and not let anyone else know how fantastic it was !!! However as Valeria and Franco are such wonderful people I have decided to share the love ! My husband and I stayed for 11 nights with our daughter and son in law joining us on the last 5 nights . The villa is generous in size however we found ourselves on the deck most of the time . The views are amazing and to climb down the steps to the beautiful ocean is incredible . The ocean is calm and makes swimming a dream . The stairs from the villa to the road are a bit more challenging ( we just took it slowly ) , food in minori is fantastic with great pastries and fresh produce... The local ham , cheese , and peaches are incredible . We can't wait to go back and enjoy the best part of Italy .

“Great Location, Great Place” My husband and I stayed here for a week in Oct 2013. This apartment was wonderful, it was a great location, clean and very comfortable. It was close enough to all the cities of the amalfi coast. We walked, took the Sita bus everywhere. It was very convenient. The restaurants were good and Franco was very helpful. We would stay here again without any hesitation! If you are older and cannot do stairs, I would not recommend. Many stairs to the apartment.

“It was a wonderful experience well beyond our expectations.” The apartment was really large and confortable, better than the pictures on the web site. The staff was warm and helpful, without annoying the guests: they were always ready to satisfy our needs. The weather was ok and we had the opportunity to live the Coast: Will be back as soon as possible!

“Awesome villa!” Before renting this villa I researched a lot of places. I wanted to stay in a small town without so many tourists and really see the amalfi Coast and the people who live there. Everything about this villa is exactly as described. The patio and view are amazing and the price is very reasonable for everything you get. The very best thing of all is the service provided by Mr. Franco. He arranged a boat trip to Capri and a bus tour to Pompeii. He picked us up and took us back home so we didn't need a car at all. He also picked us up and the Salerno train statio9n and took us back when it was time for us to leave. I highly recommend you asking Mr. Franco to help you with your local tours when you arrive. We would definitely stay in this villa again when we return to the amalfi Coast.

“Fabulosisimo!” I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The apartment is more capacious than any I've rented abroad, with two beautifully appointed baths, a spacious bedroom, an even more spacious living/dining room, and a marvelous kitchen that comes with its own juicer and many other useful cooking materials. Best of all, it overlooks a wonderfully charming piazza and gets magnificent breezes from the mountains just about the time you're ready to kick back with a glass of wine (in the summer, that is--can't vouch for winter temps!). My only complaint/suggestion (again, in summer) would be to buy earplugs for sleeping, as the streets below the bedroom can get a little noisy with nighttime beach revelers. The apt is air-conditioned, but it didn't seem that effective, and we found we preferred fresh air, even in July.

Il Monaco Amalfi Dreams - Private access to the sea
Ravello villa
3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 7
“Amazing Villa on the amalfi Coast” We booked this villa solely based on Tripadvisor recommendations and we were not disappointed. Il Monaco is the perfect vacation rental on the amalfi Coast. My husband and I spent 4 nights there with 2 other couples in late april to celebrate my 40th birthday. The villa is technically located in Ravello but is walking distance to the village of Minori. We flew into Rome and Mr. Franco arranged for our transportation from Salerno train station to the villa. The driving is not for the faint of heart and I would not recommend it. The villa is spotless and has breathtaking views of the Bay of Salerno. We enjoyed coming back to the villa every night to enjoy our wine and limoncello on the very private patio. We had our own little lemon grove and beautiful sundeck. Each of the 3 roomy bedrooms has a spectacular view of the water and comfortable beds. The kitchen is fully equipped and we cooked breakfast every morning and enjoyed our coffee on the patio. The wi-fi worked fine. There are 2 bathrooms but only one shower in the house so if you are a large party, you might need to use the outdoor shower. You do have to get used to opening the front door directly into the street but the drivers on those crazy roads are careful and it was all part of the adventure! We enjoyed the quiet but quaint little village of Minori. The next day, we bravely hiked the 1,200 steps up to Ravello. It was absolutely worth it. A visit to the Hotel Caruso is not to be missed. We took a driver to La Taglieta, high on the hill overlooking Positano, where we had the best homemade pasta. Positano is worth the visit for shopping and people watching. On our last day, Mr. Franco arranged for a private boat to pick us up on our dock and take us to Capri for the day which was the highlight of our trip. We had such an amazing experience at Il Monaco. Anna made the booking experience smooth and easy and Mr. Franco was always available to us. Simply amazing vacation!

“Holiday perfection!” I wanted you to know how much I loved staying at your apartment. My vacation was absolutely the best experience I could imagine. I loved the peace, the serenity, and the ability to explore the area from the direct vicinity of your villa. I hope to be able to visit you again next spring. Your location is exactly what I want in a vacation.

“Beautiful apartment” La Tuga was the perfect fit for my family (my husband and I and three children). We loved staying right across from the sea and steps away from restaurants, cafes and shops in Minori. The apartment had a very large living room, two baths and three bedrooms. We didn't use the kitchen but it was nice to have. It was 71 steps up to the apartment but the exercise was good after all our delicious meals! Our weather was on the chilly side so we couldn't take advantage of the being so close to the water, but it didn't stop us from exploring Amalfi the first day and taking an easy walk to Maiori the next day. We had some trouble with the parking spot since we had a large car and it was very tight fitting, but it was convenient to have. We would recommend the apartment!

“Multo Bene 30th anniversary vacation w/ 5 family members” We started planning our vacation w/ Amalfi Vacations in Jan/13...from beginning to the end (incl. a 3:30 a.m. transfer to Naples airport)their customer service was impeccable (mostly from Vincenzo, Norma & Franco).Vincenzo even looked after making sure that alitalia airlines had a vegetarian meal for one of our daughters...service above & beyond! The Villa accommodated our 3 adult couples & 1 single comfortably over the spacious 4 floors & outdoor patio w/ BBQ... Their associate companies were also very accommodating (especially amalfi Car Service owned by Salvatore), who's drivers & shuttle vans were excellent for our group of 7... The location & vistas were breath taking & awesome, your near the center of the peninsula & within easy reach of Ravello, Amalfi & Positano (If you go to Positano make sure you have a true home cooked Italian dinner at "La Tagliata" near the top of the hillside)... Would strongly suggest a boat cruise along the peninsula & to Capri for a great perspective of the peninsula & the towns along the entire coast...good weather is always a bonus & we had temps. of mid-20's during our stay / no rain... It met & exceeded all our expectations (how's this - not one complaint from any of the kids that should tell you a lot)... We'd hope to return in the not too distant future!

“Almost too good to be true!” We are two couples who stayed in the two-bedroom, two-bath apartment for five nights in September. It was perfect! Spacious, attractively decorated, well-furnished kitchen, and the most beautiful views imaginable. So many outdoor spaces to enjoy: the balconies, the large patio, and the gorgeous pool We all decided we could live in the apartment, particularly if Franco were there to help us park the car and answer our questions. He was very helpful. And staying in Minori was a delight. Not overcrowded with tourists. We loved walking into town each evening (despite the narrow road) and trying the local restaurants--three we found to be very good. One final point: the apartment was quiet. Though the living area overlooked the narrow amalfi Coast road, the bedrooms were away from the street. We all slept well.
