“Very Relaxing house!” We Really enjoyed Relaxing on the Back Deck watching a Momma Goose sitting on a Nest of Eggs. The House is only 5 miles away from Town, but if Feels So Secluded.

“A Classy Vacation Experience in any Season” My brother, who has problems walking, and I stayed at Sunnybank for a little under a week in the early spring when the Corolla horses are foaling. The layout of the well-appointed, three-storey main building was perfect for our needs: the fabulous view from the top floor living room provided the inspiration for him to walk up the grand stair case, and he could take the elevator when he was having problems walking. (There are two bedrooms with walk-in showers to accommodate people who have a problem walking.) It rained the first two days, which might have been gloomy any where else, but the library of videos, and stashes of games and playing cards gave us the opportunity to connect in ways that we hadn't since we were children. The fabulous cook's kitchen and multiple eating areas can accommodate a wedding party, family reunion, or any get away time one might want. Mine was a working vacation and the office there, which is outfitted with excellent Ethernet and WiFi connections plus a daybed for napping, was a better arrangement than my office at home. Comfort and casual, yet classy ambience abounds at Sunnybank. An excellent find!

“Great time!!!” First time going to Tennessee and we had an amazing time!! The cabin was nice and you have to drive up in the mountains. It was a bit scary for us because we have never been. When it was time to go up and park the road was a bit steep. We were in a Tahoe so it was no problem but still a little scary. Views were amazing and house had a cozy feeling!!

“Awe Inspired!” The cabin was wonderful. The Bison feeding was so much fun ,one of the Alpha males had such an assured look in his eyes it was almost regal. The bison burgers were to die first! While in the hotbed which is really nice BTW, we looked up and the sky looked like God himself filled the entire sky thick with glitter that's how many stars there were.When my dog went out here came the grey mini pony and my dog licked it's nose, I think they wanted to elope....LOL The Mtn Goats & Liamas were fun as well. We couldn't remember the last time we were so relaxed. We love Bison Overlook Lodge & we will be back!

“So many awesome things to do and relaxation time all rolled up i” Such a wonderful cabin away from it all, yet things close enough for adventure. Cabin was clean, with great space. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils to be able to cook meals. Hot tub was perfect for chilly nights. Shirley was a great host, always keeping communication open before and during our stay. She was getting ready to leave the cabin right as we were arriving, yet she took the time to meet us, give us a tour of the cabin, give us details of dining and things to do in the area, and answer any questions we had. For us Floridians it was an adventure just driving on the winding roads and one night in snow for the first time! Exploring around the cabin was great. So peaceful and wonderful nature on the trail and the creek was great. We did zip lining at Canopy Ridge Farms which the speed and views were breathtaking. New Years Eve was spent roasting hot dogs and marshmallows by the outdoor fire pit. My son, 16, and I went rock climbing for over four hours on Rumbling Bald, doing four different routes with Fox Mountain guided tours, while my husband and daughter, 11, did a guided hike through part of Rumbling Bald. Went to the Biltmore Estates Candlelight tour. Was really beautiful and would recommend getting the audio guide if doing a self-guided tour. The North Carolina arboretum had an awesome Lego display with life size creations of animals, people and flowers. There was also fresh snow in the parking lot so my daughter was able to make her first little snowman! My son did one of the biking trails their and really enjoyed it. He also enjoyed riding his bike down the driveway of the cabin! Also enjoyed doing some shopping in Chimney Rock. Dining was great at Phil's BBQ in Black Mountain, La Strada, fancy Itailian in Lake Lure, and Ole's Guacamole in Black Mountain. All the adventure and food were within 20-50 minutes of the cabin which was perfect. Wishing we could of stayed for another week to relax more and do so many of the other adventures provided!!!

“This is a beautiful large "cabin" with everything you could ever want while away from home.” "Beautiful cabin, complete with fire wood, plenty of space, lots of activities within the cabin as well as information about the surrounding area of Gatlinburg and the mountains. Good for "girl's weekend" or family getaway. The hot tub was lovely as were all all of the amenities in the house.Highly recommend it.

“Wow! What a great place to stay!!!” What can I say other than this chalet is a fabulous place to stay! It is perfectly appointed and my family loved it. The location is perfect, tucked into the hillside with a sweeping view, morning sunrises, and birdsong. The host was charming and completely at our service to ensure we had a wonderful stay. We will most definately be return guests!
