“Great little hideaway” Howle Hideaway is a real gem hidden in the depth's of the Herefordshire countryside. The house has been beautifully decorated throughout to a very high standard and was a real 'cosy' place to stay as a couple. The property had a very large open plan lounge and kitchen with the bedroom on the first floor (via a quite tight spiral staircase). The owners of the property were very helpful and were willing to help out when we encountered problems with the weather (it snowed very heavily when we were there). There is also a lovely pub about a mile away which does grea food. All in all a great little hideaway for a romantic getaway from it all!

“Ramble around Ross!” We had a super stay here and did plenty of walking directly from the cottage. The cottage itself was very clean and well equipped but the shower-room sink made wet shaving rather difficult! Similarly the circular stairway did not allow much freedom, but all in all...super!

“A change of pace” The School Room was a pleasant,comfortable and very well-equipped place to stay. It was very close to shops, restaurants and pubs in Kington. Kington itself is a good centre for exploring Herefordshire and Mid-Wales, with good walks nearby. A very peaceful and relaxing place and a great change from our usual city life.

“Black n white gem” Bijoux barn conversion in the heart of little known 'black and white' part of the country. The cottage was clean , well-equipped and perfect for a cosy hideaway. The owner couldn't have been more helpful with a lovely welcome of homemade cake! Loved the spiral staircase! Right in the heart of the country. Night skies were breathtaking.

“Epic!!!” Lovely place very very clean, we all loved it at Bushmills. We will definitely be booking again soon. The games room is very good and all of the beds are really comfortable. The Kitchen is new and modern and the seating area outside has lovely views.

“Canon Pyon” We decided to take a holiday and booked only a few days before. The holiday home was great-comfortable,very clean and as we took our niece as company for our daughter,the two small single rooms were perfect for the girls. We were ideally located to visit towns and villages for shopping and sight seeing.We particularly enjoyed Hereford-a compact easy to get around city. We enjoyed a waterworks museum-with activites for children and Weston's cider museum-with a rare breed farm. The owner of the holiday home was friendly and helpful. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the weather as it rained quite a lot.

“Do relaxing I wish I was back there!” I stayed there for two weeks at the beginning of November, 2011 and it was such a peaceful and relaxing place to be! Oh, I miss it so much. The long walks along the country lanes, sitting on the back patio and writing...and being introduced to Welsh cakes by the nice woman who owns the place! When I first got there I noticed right away that the pictures on the Sykes Cottages website don't do the place justice. Also, when she was showing me around inside I was struck at how big it is! Very nicely decorated inside and my god how do I describe the view from the living room glass doors? Amazing!!

“Fabulous quiet weekend” Really well revamped cottage with excellent sized fully enclosed garden for the dog. Excellent facilities for barbecue and owners extremely friendly and accommodating. Would definitely consider again as while slightly isolated location makes it really personal but still within 2 mins walk of the pub. Only tiny downer was it could probably do with a slightly bigger TV for the evenings in.

“Perfect!!!” This house was perfect for our group of 5 families. Mixture of adults and under 5's all had a great time. House was nice and clean and well equipped. Pool was brilliant and nice and warm. Sufficient outdoor chairs and tables as well as indoor. Any minor issues, (which were down to us and not the owners!) were solved asap by the owners. Location was good as amenities were only a short drive away. You have to try the Ice-creams @ the petrol station - they are huge!!!

A fantastic stay

A beautiful example of the perfect holiday cottage within a picturesque little village. All the creature comforts for a nice cosy break mid December like underfloor heating in every room and fully equipped kitchen, even a tasty sample of a locally brewed cherry vodka. Nice oldy-worldy village pub called The Crown on the door step for a good real ale and warm by the log fire whilst chatting to the friendly locals.Managed to get to nearby Leominster Victorian market on the Saturday which was lively and festive with stalls selling all the local produce. We were lucky enough to have some snow also which covered the village and added to an already picturesque postcard picture. Fantastic weekend

I took my family away to the Croft for my 50th birthday and it could not have been a better celebration, there were 21 of us but the house easily accommodated 24. The house was perfect and the owner popped in to see us to show us around and made us feel that it was our home for the duration. The swimming pool, Sauna, pool room and gym made such a difference especially for the time of year we were there January.
