Why Lancashire?

Why Lancashire?

Lancashire is a county located in the North West of England, and is perhaps best known for its county town of Lancaster. Blackpool is also a major attraction, as well as other cities such as Manchester, Wigan and Preston. Take a trip to this popular county and book your vacation rental in Lancashire.

About Lancashire

Lancashire was first founded in the 12th century. In the past, this area was the cotton weaving center of Britain and towns such as Burnley, Chorley and Blackburn were the most important to this trade.

Today, Lancashire has become a hub for a range of interests, including outdoors activities, entertainment and culture, due to the many vibrant cities that make up this county.

What to do

Preston is also an ideal resort to explore culture and history. Here you'll find the Harris Museum and Art Gallery and Samlesbury Hall, an original 14th century manor house.

Top Lancashire travel tips

As the county is so huge, we'd advise you to hire a car, especially if you intend on traveling to numerous cities within the county. Each city should have its own bus and rail transport system, so it may be worth researching the routes before you travel.

Take a trip to one of England's most popular counties for an entertaining break away this year. Book your vacation rental in Lancashire with us today.

Central Location

Great location for visiting the local area or The Lake District. Due to being within walking distance of the Railway station ,You can use public transport to explore the area or to travel by train from around the UK to Lancaster from London/Scotland/Wales or Northern/Eastern/southern/Western England This is great if you do not want to drive as I did traveling up from London In about 2 and half hours. The Flat is large and well set out with everything you would need to self cater, With Sainsburys and the town centre within 5 minutes walk. Would recommend this rental to anyone wanting a great holiday location . Cathy the owner meet me as agreed, with a warm welcome full of information regarding the flat and there was a great collection of books and map of local area . Excellent all roundsee more

Great place and location

We loved it here and the accommodation was as good as any timeshare wghich is what we've been used to. In fact it was better than a lot. We were so near the water it was like being on a boat and there were many places of interest round about. The cottage was well furnished and the kichen was well equipped wuith everything we could need. Three Tv's 0ne in each bedroom and the lounge. For me the only complaint was that could have been bigger as I have an eye and hearing problem but that's me and we solved the lounge one by moving the furniture bit I couldn't see the one in the bedroom because I couldn't see the subtitles. We are elderly so having to go upstairs to bed was a bit difficult but there was a toilet downstairs which helped. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.see more

Perfection In The Dales

We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this one," Stone Mouse Cottage" exceeded all expectations These premises had everything one could have required, plenty of Cooking Appliances - Crockery- Cutlery etc. The Cottage was very light and airy and had spectacular views over the hills. A lot of thought had gone into the designing of the Cottage with modern ideas. Ideally located for getting around the Dales, did not really want to leave, you could have lived in this cottage 12 months of the year. Pets extremely catered for with towels and washing facilities all to hand.see more

Clean,comfortable and peacefull

We were greeted by Carol on our arrival and although we arrived early the accommodation was ready for us to occupy. We were lucky enough to have good weather during our stay and were able to have a barbecue one evening in the garden . Carol supplied the "Weber" grill and also lent us some toys for our grand-kids who were visiting with our son. We were close to Poulton and ten minutes from Blackpool so there was plenty of shops restaurants etc. We even took a drive to the Lake District one day which is about an hour or so away. On the whole a very pleasant stay.see more
