“Wow! You'll love the Red Sunset!” Are you looking for a luxury guesthouse near Lake Arenal and Arenal Volcano? If so, look no further and book yourself into the Red Sunset. My husband and I, along with six friends, spent a week in March there. We are so glad we did! We found the accommodations to be everything they were advertised and more. The views are amazing and the house, pool house and grounds will give you plenty of opportunities to relax and explore. While the guesthouse is excellent, the very best feature is the owner/operator Patrick. Patrick met with us each day to help us plan activities and make reservations with the best tour operators. His local knowledge and recommendations were spot on each day, and his help was invaluable. The breakfast provided each morning was a highlight unto itself. Come prepared to eat well – you won’t be disappointed. We’ve never had meals of this quality at similar style lodgings. We also took advantage of the optional evening Chef services. While there were several great places to eat in the Lake Arenal area, all of which were recommended to us by Patrick, you won’t beat the meals prepared by Patrick and his wife. Our favorite was the Chicken Parmesan – sorry, Mom, but it was the best we’ve had anywhere! The Red Sunset was the perfect place for our Costa Rica vacation. We arrived as guests and soon felt like family. We’re glad we chose the Red Sunset!

“Wonderful beach condo with amazing ocean views” I stayed at Audrey and Eric's condo during Hangout Music Fest, and it was a comfortable place to sleep, eat, get work done, and enjoy the view of the ocean. Checking in and out was hassle-free, as was communicating with the owners. Definitely a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy some time on the beach.

“Paradise by the beach!” 1203 is a beautiful unit with awesome views, access to two pools & hot tubs, and easy access to the Beach via a covered walkway. Very clean and well maintained and the owners were great to work with. Lots of good restaurants and shopping opportunities close by. Loved it, and hope to be able to make it my home away from home again soon!

“Best View Ever” This was a very nice condo at the beach! Most condos only offer a view facing the beach but this unit has a clear long distance view all the way to Ft Morgan from inside the unit, the beach view and the Lagoon in the back. Windows surrounded the living room and kitchen while there were two sliding doors that opened to balconies on both sides. The condo was very nicely furnished including flat screen televisions, the property had a number of pools onsite and it was close to nice places to eat.

“It's Delightful, It's Delicious, It's De-lovely!” One would think that Cole Porter wrote those lyrics after visiting Ye Olde Manor House! The owners, Karen Fulbright-Anderson and John anderson, are a delightful, warm, welcoming couple. They are so friendly and engaging that you feel at home almost as soon as you arrive. And their home reminds me of an English Country Cottage with the many comfortable seating areas and nooks and crannies expected. There is also a beautiful green lawn with several flowering beds and many lovely spots for sitting. But the piece de resistance of the public areas is the year-round indoor/outdoor pool, with a depth of no more than 5 feet, which makes it perfect for swimmers and non-swimmers (me) alike. First, and most importantly, each guest room has it's own private bath stocked with lovely smelling potions and lotions, big, soft, fluffy bath towels and anything else that you might need. Second, the rooms are lovely. I stayed in the 'Oak Room', which is filled with antique oak furniture and is perfect for one person. There is a chair for reading, a beautiful antique trunk that you can sit on use for your luggage and antique lamps, doilies and trinkets. There were two other guest rooms nearby, but I slept like a baby and never heard anyone else! The breakfast that John and Karen offer negates the need for lunch! You have a choice of Vegan, Vegetarian or the Meat and Dairy eaters breakfast, and everything they prepare is delicious! Finally, there are plenty of other things to do nearby-walking around the Lake, hiking, visiting the quaint Town of Elkhorn, attending concerts and, my favorite, antique fairs!! My long weekend at Ye Olde Manor House was so enjoyable and relaxing that it left me feeling as though I'd spent a week at a spa. Writing about it is making me feel the same way all over again. I can't wait to visit again!!!

“Can't wait to return” This truly is a great get-a-way. Close to the mountains and Lake Wedowee, it's a perfect retreat. Large enough for a group to share, with all the enmities of home. Comfy beds, full size kitchen, big bubble bath or shower if you prefer. Large dining room table accommodates the whole family with even a high hair for the baby. Lots of comfortable seating for a night of movies. We enjoyed our stay so much at the Chapman house that we are anticipating our next stay. Truly a hidden gem. Kelly Miller- St Petersburg, Fl

“Quiet, lovely, spacious - so much more than just a cabin!!” The Acorn Cabin was such a pleasant surprise. We weren't sure what to expect as another member of the family made the plans. It was the perfect place to host our family reunion. John and Linda had everything for family fun including horse shoes, badminton and lawn jarts. They are incredibly friendly, caring and helpful! They know the area well and were full of great suggestions for hiking and biking. The cabin itself is huge! More than enough space to move around. The bedrooms are plenty big and the kitchen is perfect for making meals with everything you could need. And if you can't find it? Linda and John will hook you up! The porches both front and back were our favorite. It rained a few days and the porches were the perfect spot to still enjoy being outside. Loved watching the fire flies at dusk while sipping on a glass of wine. Simply awesome! If you want to get away without getting really far away, this is a great spot. Lots to do and explore. “Great home to stay at while in Texas hillcountry!” My wife and I stayed at this home for a few days in September. The property was very nice, and quiet. The house was completely clean and had everything that we needed during our stay. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the deer that came to visit. We would definitely stay here again!

“Serene time in Munster” Maison Bellevue was a great surprise for me! It is very central to the small town of Munster and the train station. It's ideal for people who want to escape the big city hustle and bustle but yet want to be able to commute to other places without difficulty. I found the apartment to be very satisfactory, everything I needed was catered for and found in my room including Wi-Fi! Access to my lodgings was unobtrusive and I could come and go at anytime of the day without interference. I did day trips to Strasbourg, Freiburg in Germany and Basel in Switzerland. The owners were specially helpful and give me very advice about things to do and the restaurants to try out. I love the tea room Chez annie, next to the the tourist office. I rented a bike just a few meters away from Bellevue apartments and went to explore the Munster Valley to Metzeral , I actually did it the lazy and put my bike on the train and rode down back to Munster , I stopped at the Clog maker in Breitenbach, the last in the area. I found that if you try to speak a little french , people are very helpful .

“A very welcoming home.” Our second stay and as great as the first time. A decorated Christmas tree greeted us, which was very nice. There was a bottle of wine to celebrate the New Year. The heated pool and hot tub were great. The home was near shopping and it didn't take us long to drive to the attractions. All in all we all enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable home. “Southbridhe” Loved the new upgrade to the town home .. As always a quiet community and a great place to stay.. I would suggest any of my friends or family to stay there. Extremely happy with my stay.
