“Girls weekend away” Six of us brought together through a breast cancer survivor dragonboat team formed a bond and now we get together once a year at the "Annex". We go in the fall and enjoy the colours and serenity of the place. We have so much fun, the house is big and rustic. We enjoy the fireplace, the big kitchen, we take turns making meals and can't enough of the great outdoors. Dave makes sure we have enough wood and all the comforts of home. We just love the place and are looking forward to going back again this year.

“Peaceful, Beautiful Cottage” Hello, I stayed at this cottage this past weekend with a couple of my girlfriends. We where looking for a quiet remote location to relax, enjoy the sun, and bonfire in the afternoon. Upon arrival to the cottage we where greeted with a fantastic scenery, a very clean cottage that was comfy and welcoming. The house provided basic amenities that we might have needed or forgotten. It was a great space and far enough from other cottages to have the privacy you wanted. The lake was very beautiful and clean. The kayaks where a great feature and well very much enjoyed taking them out on the water. The bonfire area was a great feature. The beach area was very clean and comes with great lawn chairs. We very much loved the covered porch that looked onto the water, a great place to have your morning coffee. Overall, this cottage was an amazing experience and I would recommend it for anyone from families to groups of friends. it is exactly what you are looking for.

“Great winter stay” This cottage was perfect for a winter getaway. The fireplace kept the place cozy and it is dog friendly. Had a nice outdoor fire one cold evening and some nice hiking in algonquin, which is very close. The Owners are very friendly. The only critical comment is that this cottage is actually on the owner's personal-use-cottage property (right beside it), so the outdoor area is shared and the proximity much closer than anticipated. That said, the owners were respectful of the fact that the rental unit is so close to their own cottage, and definitely gave us our own space - but this would be an issue for me in the summer.

“Perfect family get together.” We visited Trenanthia cottage to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday, the location needed to suit all of our party ranging in ages from 4 years to 90 years old. The cottage did not disappoint, plenty of space for everyone to do there own thing with large spaces for all the family to be together. The kids loved going out on the lake, plenty of watercraft and even more importantly plenty of life jackets. The view out over the lake is just stunning and constantly changing. The house itself is well equipped the laundry room made life a lot easier. From the first time I contacted the people at the cottage the service has been superb, friendly and informative. Randy who looks after the cottage was really helpful and friendly. We decided to use the linen service as we were travelling from the uk so didn't want to have to worry about taking sheets, this was really helpful, as was the end if rental cleaning service. Our whole experience with Trenanthia cottage was brilliant and I have already recommended it to friends. It was a perfect base for birthday celebrations and to explore the Muskoka area. If I had to use one word to sum up our trip it would simply be 'amazing'!! Thank you Trenanthia family.

“Highly recommended!” We held a week long family gathering with 14 guests ranging in age from 2 years to 70 years. The location was perfect for our multi use needs and there was loads of space for everyone to spread out and relax. Even on the one "rain" day all the kids had play space in the nicely finished basement and spacious open concept living areas. The main cottage deck offers loads of space to sit back, relax and enjoy the 180 degree views of the beautiful lake. The kitchen and large eating area (two tables) was very useful for cooking large meals. The spare fridge in the basement came in handy for overflow food, treats and drinks. We rented a canoe and water trampoline from algonquin Outfitters, which added endless fun and entertainment for the kids and adults. The small beach area was a great little safe harbour for the little ones to play and explore the shallow water area. We look forward to renting this luxurious location again. T

With several microbreweries in the region, getting a cold beer is not a problem. Check out the Muskoka Brewery where they have been brewing craft beers for over 20 years.
Visit Muskoka in the fall and take a cruise aboard an antique steamship belonging to the Muskoka Lakes Navigation Company, the colors of the leaves are a spectacle beyond belief.
