“Perfect Hideaway.” Perfect couple hideaway for the weekend. We enjoyed the hot tub, the views, and the fireplace. It was very warm and inviting. Fully stocked kitchen so it was nice to be able to cook and enjoy staying in. 15 minutes to Gatlinburg and 15 to Pigeon Forge. Highly recommend!!

“Awesome Cabin!!” My husband and I rented this property for the July 4th weekend. His sister and her husband traveled with us. At first we thought we were going to the end of the Earth, but after finding the cabin we were all very pleased. It was very nice! Clean, spacious, and private. Giving each couple their own bedroom and bathroom. Best of all, Liz, is an amazing hostess, checking in with us daily to be sure everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this cabin for a nice relaxing weekend.

“Relaxing and rejuvinating” My husband, six month old daughter and I spent the weekend here in May. It was outstanding. Kendall, the owner, was warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped out of the car. She provided us with maps of her property, which you can hike and explore. We especially enjoyed the koi pond and just sitting on the porch swing. The views are amazing from the porch and deck. The cabin is in Fairview, NC which is about 20 minutes away from Asheville. It is the perfect location, far enough away to feel as if you are the only ones around, but close enough to downtown to run in for dinner. You don't have to, however, because there is a restaurant, The Local Joint, about 5 minutes away. They have a variety of local food and organic entrees. Excellent. Kendall is a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor. We were able to get massages for both my husband and myself, which were fantastic. I also opted to take a private yoga lesson, which was awesome. I am a super-beginner, and she was able to make the class both on my level and enjoyable. We got the "relaxation weekend" which I highly recommend. The massage and yoga class (or sauna treatment) come with the cabin price. There is a hot tub which we were unable to use (because we needed to watch the baby), but looked very inviting. Overall, I would give this vacation spot 5 stars, more if I could!

“Beautiful cabin and view” The drive to the cabin was fairly easy since the road is paved. However, the turn in to the private drive was tricky for our Chrysler Town and Country minivan. We couldn't make it in one turn and had to stop and backup a little then put it back in drive to make the turn. Also, any time we left the cabin we had to backup and put it back in drive a couple of times before we could get turned around. Smaller vehicles will probably not have this problem. The cabin is beautiful with all the large windows and so many gorgeous logs! We loved sitting out on the deck looking at the mountains and listening to the nearby creek. We wished a few more trees had been cut down, but were happy for those that had been. We understand the sun could be a problem since there are no blinds in the kitchen or living room and we had the sun in our eyes every morning. I would recommend some of the small pull down blinds for those windows. The decks are awesome and provide a ton of space, but we wish there had been more furniture on both decks (there is none on the lower level where the hot tub is). The hot tub and sauna were amazing. The upstairs guest bathtub is wonderful, as is the shower downstairs. There needs to be more bath/hand towels and washcloths in all bathrooms. I would recommend towels on the lower level specifically for use with the hot tub/sauna. We had fun playing pool and the table is in great shape. As much as we loved the cabin there was one thing that would keep us from going back...the beds. Not everyone slept well and when you are somewhere for a week rest is important. We realize bed preferences are very individualized and others may find them more comfortable than we did. Lastly, the reservation process and picking up/returning keys was very easy.

“A great cabin with an awesome view.” The Above the Clouds Retreat is truly a beautiful mountain cabin experience that you want to return to again and again. We have rented many cabins in the mountains over the years and I must say, this is the one we've enjoyed the most. The screen porch with very comfortable seating overlooking an awesome view of the Smokies is perfect for total relaxation. The cabin is beautifully decorated and has all of the amenities of home. Joanie is a great gal who truly cares about her cabin and does her utmost to provide a great vacation experience for her renters. We plan on returning as soon as our schedule will permit.

“Absolutely Relaxing” This cabin is so relaxing to stay at. The sound of the river right outside puts you to sleep at night. We slept with the windows open all nite. The Pictures do not do this cabin justice. The stone walls are something to behold. The kitchen has every appliance and utensil you could ever use all you need is your food. The beds are comfortable. The owners have gone out of their way to make sure you know of all the local area hiking, boating and restaurants that are available in the area. We really would love to stay here again. It is off the beaten path and once you get there you never want to leave.

“The perfect getaway location!” I cannot say enough nice things about this rental property- from the first email contact to the last, the Millers were outstanding with communication. The property offers a fantastic view of the valley that hypnotizes- before you know it, you've sat on the porch rocking the afternoon away. The cabin itself had everything you could ask for and more- just bring the food and you're good to go. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils & I was able to cook two nights/one morning there without needing a certain pot, pan, or spatula. The living room was cosy and there was enough t.v. channel variety to keep my teenage boys occupied during the short rainy period. The cabin was centrally located and we visited a mine, movie theater, grocery store, arcade, and several restaurants in the area all with in 20-30 minutes, many much less. I plan on making a return trip as soon as I can!

“Great time at King's Mountain Laurel” We are two adventurous Senior Adult couples who wanted to get away from it all for Thanksgiving. That's exactly what we found at this lovely cabin on top of this mountain, and the owner was warm and friendly. We were comfy, warm and the views from the porch was incredible! The driveway was a thrill and not for the faint of heart, but we had an experienced driver so we had no problems. Daniel's Steakhouse served a great Thanksgiving meal; Georgia Mountain Restruant had a great breakfast, and we shopped and explored the surrounding area on Friday...Don't miss Bell Mountain (another thrill) in Hiawassee, and Mark of the Potter in Clarksville. “Fantastic place to recharge” In short this is just a wonderful place to visit and stay and was worth the 7 hour trip from Silver Spring MD. Other reviews have said better then I could how lovely this place is. I'll just try to add on by noting a small things about the TV and internet that I noticed wasn't mentioned much by others. The picture shows there is a TV but its a bit dated in that it is no longer a big butt TV but a good sized flat screen with HDMI outputs. So if your young and tech savy like we are and like to play your movies off your laptop/hard drive then it is completely possible. However, Bill has a great collection of DVDs with a wide range from light-hearted comedies to Oscar worthy dramas and thus we just ended up take advantage of his selections after relaxing in the hot tub and pouring a glass of wine at sunset. (the mountain view is unbeatable) No wireless but I was able to check work emails on my phone the one time I checked just in case something required my attention. Definitely not an area where streaming videos is seamless but for me disconnecting from the internet was a big appeal to me anyways and think you would find it is too.

“Beautiful, extremely comfortable, would go back again!!!” My family and I stayed for 8 days and could not have asked for a more comfortable, clean well-built cabin to spend our vacation. The views were beautiful especially the sunrise in the morning over the deck. There were six of us, all adults, and the house was large enough that we all had our own space when needed. We were close to trout fishing, zip lining and water rafting. One of the things that stood out to me was the quality of the furnishings from the bedding, linens to all of the kitchen ware. The whole cabin has been decorated with taste and quality. My family enjoyed the hot tub every night. We grilled on the deck, made smores over the fire pit. It was truly a wonderful vacation that was made even more memorable by the cabin itself. I would definitely go back again and hope to!!!

“What peace and quiet with beautiful view” Want a get away to relax and have a glass of wine while sitting in a hot tub? Well this cabin provides everything from the well decorated and clean interior to the outstanding decks with views. We loved the peace and quiet. This cabin has been decorated perfectly and was so clean. The owner could not be nicer. The view from the second floor balcony was perfect to watch the sun set. Breakfast out on the main deck was also great along with the opportunity to grill some steaks out doors. Great place and I would highly reoommend it.

“Escape” This rental was all and everything that the crowd could want, everything from a lg size grill to ample wine glasses, above excellent HOT TUB. We had a pool table and unlimited PAcMAN. The Beds were so comfortable. There was no need to have to pack the house it was already there. Bring clothes toothbrush and food and your set. Our only problem was not long enough. We have rented cabins every year at this time in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and I can say I have never felt as though the company and owner were at the reach of a phone call after checking in like this time. I have already told work friends and hoping to get another trip together soon at same cabin, just need a few more days this time.
