“Wonderful apartment in Palermo” The apartment was perfect - clean, bright and spacious with excellent fixtures in the ultra modern bathrooms and kitchen. The balcony was also excellent - spacious with fantastic views of the rooftops of Palermo including the Cathedral. Antonio was the perfect host - he met us outside the building, carried our bags to the apartment and took me to the nearest market to stock up on some essential provisions. He had already provided chilled water and a delicious selection of fruit and cakes in the apartment as a greeting. The location is also prefect - situated about half way between Via Maqueda and Via Roma. It's a few minutes walk from The Church of San Domenico and the wonderful Vucciria Market with it's wonderful selection of stalls and shops by day and great bars and street food stalls at night. Thoroughly recommend and hope to be back sometime soon!

“A Secret Paradise” We have just returned after an amazing 2 weeks staying at Sapphire Home. We are a family of four (2 adults, 2 boys 12 & 8) and this was the perfect place for us. You do worry about booking somewhere over the internet & hope that the photos live up to their expectations. Well Sapphire Home did not let us down one bit; in fact we were meant to move to the east coast of Sicily but decided to stay on as we were so happy with everything. The location was excellent. A 25 minute drive from airport, 15 mins from supermarkets eg Carrefour, Lidl and Conrad; 10 mins from Balestrate itself which had some excellent inexpensive restaurants and its own supermarket. Our longest drive was an easy 2 hours to agrigento (Valley of the Temples) otherwise it was between 15-60 minutes drive through amazing beautiful scenery to see fabulous Temples (Segesta, Selinunte), beaches (fab snorkelling), islands (from Trapani), hilltop villages, natural reserves, beautiful Churches and so much more. You do need a car! The apartment itself - spotless, self contained, spacious, comfortable beds, very quiet, wireless. We had an outdoor terrace with amazing views all around us. The large garden was well cared for; there were fruit trees (lime, lemon, apricot & plum trees)and a great vegetable garden. We were offered to take some of the fruit and vegetables which was very kind of the owner. There were also a couple of BBQ and outside areas with table & chairs and lots of shelter. The big hit of course for all of us was the amazing large natural chlorine, salt pool. I have never swam in anything like it - so refreshing & your skin felt great afterwards. Antonio was an excellent, helpful & very kind host. He sorted anything out immediately & we enjoyed a wonderful evening with antonio (Laura & Eileen) showing us how to make delicious mussel soup. I really can't say enough about this wonderful place & highly recommend to you all. Thank you antonio! So glad we found your wonderful home!

Perfect Service/Perfect Flat/Perfect Location

Even the first contact with the owner antonio was very friendly and absolutely easy. He provided every neccessary information precisely in advance. We were greeted by the friendly householders who surprised us with fresh oranges and pastries.The apartment is situated in the very centre of Palermo. All major attractions are within walking distance. The apartment itself is very well laid out. The double beds in the bedroom were very comfortable. During the winter there are even huge down blankets and orthopedic pillows. I've never slept so well in a foreign bed. The kitchen is small but very well equipped. The two bathrooms look like new. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The interior is a pleasant mix of Ikea, design, and old furniture. From the living room there is access to the spacious terrace with its breathtaking views of the city. Even the construction site does not interfere with the view. Delighted we were on the fast WiFi. The apartment is quiet in itself. Nevertheless, the lively pulse of the vibrant city also abounds with 4 Floor of the house. But who will travel to Palermo, know that it is a noisy and dirty city. Very enjoyable stay at this villa in Balestrate

The place is very relaxing and is surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. All the facilities that you require for a self-catering holiday are available. It has modern kitchen units and is nicely furnished. You also have the use of a well-maintained private pool. There are many places of interest to visit in the area. The beach is a five minute drive from the villa. Antonio was a great Host. He was always available if we needed any information or to answer any queries. We shared a lovely meal together he cooked for us from fresh, local produce. … see more

Comfortable accommodations, beautiful grounds and gracious host

We contact antonio in a bit of a panic when the place where we had made reservations turned out to be not up to our expectations. Antonio was very accommodating and made special arrangements to prepare the apartment for us so that it was available within a matter of hours. The apartment is very nice - we especially enjoyed the terrace which overlooks the property. The bed in the 'master bedroom' was very comfortable - we only used one of the three bedrooms. The location is convenient to Palermo, Segesta and Marsala. We cooked in the apartment, so can't vouch for nearby restaurants, although antonio does provide a list of restaurants. Although it was absolutely no problem for us, there are several cats on the premises, so someone who is highly allergic to cats should be aware. Sadly, we were unable to use the pool as we arrived a little late in the season - however, it looks like a gem. We also appreciated having a washing machine and ample clothes lines. … see more

We want to go there again ...

We spent our holiday in this beautiful estate in Villa Wisteria from 14 to 29 July (two families: 4 adults and three girls 4, 6 and 12 years old). The house is very original. It has its own soul - the old, kind and welcoming Sicilian soul. All the rooms are furnished and decorated with great taste and love. Every item is in place and has its meaning and history. Many thanks to Dario and agnes for our wonderful holiday! There was not a single question that would be left unnoticed or ignored. We got real help whether it concerned our stay in the villa or giving useful advice on planning our itinerary. One can only dream of such hospitable hosts! The estate has a large lemon orchard. With Dario's permission we could pick fragrant lemons straight from the trees. After the lemon orchard there follows an olive grove and, further, a pine alley which gives way to a wonderful beach. It's only 200-meter walk but what a pleasant way! Little kids could walk from the beach to the house on their own. During our stay there we could see only few people on the beach. Thanks to Dario's advice we were able to see many beautiful parts of Sicily. We fell in love with this warm and sunny island. For breakfast we had fresh bread and croissants with different fillings and a couple of evenings, with Dario's help again, we ordered local delicious pizza. Near the house there is a pizzeria where you can enjoy Italian cuisine. Within a ten-minute walk or a five-minute drive there is a supermarket, "ARD", where you can buy any products you like; a railway station, from which you can reach the capital of Sicily - Palermo. You can visit Cefalu - a beautiful town located not far from the villa. This town has a wonderful sandy beach with very gentle entrance into the water. For small children it's a real paradise.
