“Great Michigan Getaway!” Our stay at Indian Pointe was beyond our expectations! The house and amenities were great! The only thing I will now know for next year (yes, we hope to return again next fall) was the fact that so many little things were supplied with the rental such as coffee, sugar, tea, coffee filters, etc. This was a great weekend getaway! It felt like our home away from home!

“A wonderful place for renewal” Olga and Pat's home in South Haven is exactly that..a haven of lovely peace and quiet, but with wonderful options nearby. Their home is decorated by Olga with her incredible sense of taste and practicality, fully stocked with every amenity that one could wish, plus super comfy beds. I love the reading nook adjacent to the master bedroom, a cozy spot on rainy days. Location is perfect; two short blocks to the lake and beaches; also close to town and nearby restaurants and markets. The property is exquisitely landscaped, with a backyard that offers a variety of activities. Olga and Pat are a down-to-earth couple, friendly and very accommodating. We absolutely loved Sabina's Sandcastle and hope to return soon.

About Saugatuck, Michigan

William G. Butler arrived in the area now known as Saugatuck hundreds of years ago. He began trading with the Native Americans in the area and, since then, the town has grown at a laid-back, yet continuous pace.

The town was built around the lumber and tanning industries, but now is more famous for being the 'Art Coast of Michigan'. There are over 30 art galleries in town!

You can get virtually any type of food in Saugatuck, even southern dishes, such as fried chicken, coleslaw, beans and grits. If you're looking for something a bit more exotic, find an Italian or Mexican restaurant along the seafront. There are plenty of fine dining options too.

You can visit Saugatuck in any season and find something to do and see. Whether you are an art lover, or a foodie, Saugatuck is waiting for you to explore it.

What to do

Take a dune buggy ride for 45 minutes with entertaining drivers who help you get the most out of the experience.

Visit Saugatuck Dunes State Park, with its lovely beach and hiking trails. You can walk through a wonderful hardwood forest and follow one of the hiking trails. Great for all the family!

Take a stroll down Butler Street. Shop, sit in a park, or stop at one of the many art galleries or restaurants.

Go to Oval Beach and sunbathe, or follow one of the nature trails there. Many people believe that the beach is the best on the lake shore.

Take a trip across the Kalamazoo River on a chain ferry. It's a short trip, but well worth it.

Go to Mount Baldhead Park and see great views of Saugatuck and the Kalamazoo River from the top of the mountain.

Enjoying the marsh and beyond

We always enjoy our visits here, overlooking the marsh with its cranes, swans and other various birds and animals and beautiful sunrises. Place is as described and would definitely recommend to a friend or relative. Owner responsive to questions or concerns. Relaxing and romantic. Close to many great restaurants in Douglas, Saugatuck and Fennville and not far from Holland. Also wineries, breweries, meat and farmers markets, creameries and bakeries.see more
