About Seaside

The Oregon Coast is one of the most scenic destinations in the US, and the community of Seaside is right in the middle of it all. The cultural attractions, fine dining and shopping options, and hospitable locals offer all the necessary ingredients for a relaxing and peaceful getaway. For beautiful harbor views and access to some of the best restaurants in the area, your best bet is to head to North and South Main Street. However, there's plenty happening here beyond this one strip.

Here are some of the many must-see attractions worth checking out during your time in Seaside.

  • Tillamook Rock Lighthouse: Completed in 1881, this lighthouse overlooks Tillamook Head and offers free-guided tours throughout the year.
  • Seaside Aquarium: Visit the seals and rare underwater life forms at this popular local attraction.
  • Go for a walk: A walk along the beach during sunset is sure to provide unbelievable views you won't soon forget.
  • Lanai Cove: This local cove is rich in history and is a great place to relax and listen to the waves.
  • Try the local cuisine: With such close proximity to the shore, the seafood here is always fresh and delicious. The Bridge Tender Tavern is known as one of the best restaurants in town.

Don't let Seaside's reputation as a summer destination fool you. There are plenty of live performances, cultural events, and town-wide parties to enjoy in and around the area throughout the year. Take part in a live auction while eating delicious local seafood at the Crab Krack in Newport every January, watch the elaborate fireworks displays during the Independence Day celebrations in July, or bring the whole family to admire the floats and costumes that are part of the New Year's Eve Parade in December.

Whether you're looking for a dream vacation house next to the beach that's perfect for the whole family or a luxury condo near the dining and shopping options that Seaside has to offer, there's a vacation rental in the area that's right for you.

If you wish to take a day trip to explore other parts of the Oregon Coast, head to the geologic landmarks of Waldport, the world-famous Nye Beach in Newport, or the ancient bay front of Florence. All of these locations can be reached within thirty minutes or less by car.

Great house! but with a few issues

Spent NY week 2016 GREAT house! Especially the "Pearlette" which is amazing for your tweens and teens who want their own space. The house is well-kept and comfortable. A few things: The hot tub is amazing and gets quite hot BUT I was there alone the first night and there is no way I could have put the top on by myself. They need a roll-bar. The fire-pit doesn't really work. Very low flame. Which upset me because we ALWAYS sit out by the fire (December) and it's part of what we paid for. We called for repairs, only to discover that this fire pit HASN'T WORKED FOR MONTHS AND THE OWNERS KNOW IT. I find that quite upsetting. I paid top-dollar for your house for those amenities, and I expect that YOU thought they worked. Bad form. Fix the fire pit for heaven's sake. Lastly, most folks bring their children with them on vacation. Get rid of the 1970's string beads hanging between the kitchen and the living room. We spent a great deal of time trying to keep the 2 year-old from pulling them down. All-in-all a great house though. 2 blocks from the prom. easy walk to town OR the outlets OR the theater. quiet neighborhood. private. Really hot tub (important) nice kitchen. great natural light! comfortable (not great) beds. only one shower in the main house, but when you spend the week in the hot tub...you don't care!see more
BREZZA MARINA - SEASIDE - OCEAN FRONT - ON PROMENADE
Perfect

Wow dealing with the owners was a brezze they care about people. I had my wife, my son his wife and my 11 month old granddaughter, my daughter her husband and my 4 year old grandson and granddaughter. We had so much room. Didn't even use the basement until we watched USA Soccer. Short walk to turn around and downtown. The view every morning from the Crows nest PRICELESS. We will be back. 5 stars from the Jones Family. Thanks Mikesee more

Sweet home with partial view of ocean

WE loved the decor of this house. Everything seemed colorful, remodeled or new, but cozy. We slept on comfortable beds, the couch & chairs were great, kitchen & grill too. Step in shower in the master is new. Too bad I could not climb into the loft bedrooms more than once, the waves are always visible up there & the window can remain open day & night. The front dutch door is perfect for opening even on a cloudy day. On a hot day we opened the garage doors for a big breeze. The view of the golf course was excellent from the back deck. My service GSD was very amused by all the people he could see since the yard is not fenced. The house location is off the beaten track if you have been in busy Seaside--the very south end of the sandy beach. Avoiding traffic on the highway was easy & a grocery store within walking distance helped. The neighborhood is quiet, the driveway fit 3 cars & the garage fit one. We backed out into the street without trouble. The ocean was hard to see sitting down in the house due to a wall the neighbor built along his front yard & driftwood. The walk down to the beach is rocky, not sandy so also a challenge for disabled. I feel the price reflected this fairly. Thank you for the history posted on the frig & the garden!see more
Cozy pet friendly cottage w/ easy beach access perfect for a couples retreat!
Cozy place, comfortable living area, close to beach

From the upstairs window you could clearly see the Prom, the dunes, and the ocean beyond. It is a wonderful location which is super close to the beach and a reasonable walk to Broadway and downtown attractions. The cottage sits at the very rear of a lot shared with a larger "mother" house. The driveway and parking is very tight, with one spot directly to the right of the cottage. The small driveway area in front of the cottage and to the right of the cottage belongs to the "mother" house. We have a compact car and found the driveway and parking spot to be very difficult to get out of after parking. It required a multi-point turn in the gravel area to the right of the cottage to get turned around to drive out of the driveway. There are retaining walls on either side of the driveway which have to be minded as you drive out or else you will scrape your car or bumpers. There is very limited parking on the street, so don't bank on that being available should your vehicle not fit or driving prowess not be up to the very tight parking area. The cabin itself is very cozy. Kitchen, dining area and living area are in the same room. The living area consists of a love seat and matching chair facing the front windows and a small LCD TV setup. The kitchen table has 3 chairs and the kitchen is reasonably well equipped; fridge, full stove, dishwasher. The laundry center is one of those stacked units. The bathroom is at the rear of the Cottage and is a fairly recently remodel. It is a nicely sized bathroom with plenty of room to move around in, a very nice vanity and a large stand up shower. The bathroom also has its own heater, to take the chill off the morning. The upstairs is the bedroom. It is equipped with one queen bed, a sleeper sofa and a chair and ottoman. The views from the upstairs window to the ocean are mostly of the surrounding properties, but if you look to 2 o'clock you can see lots of ocean and sand. If you leave the window open during the night you can hear the ocean all night long. During our stay we had one very cool morning in the house which would have necessitated heat, however the only heat source in the cottage is a gas fireplace, which according to the agency will sufficiently heat the whole cabin. I don't disagree with that statement, but the stove had the gas shut off and there were no instructions on how to start it up. At this point the only heat in the cabin was the heater in the bathroom and a large space heater that I found in the closet containing the water heater. I did not use the space heater. By mid day the outside temperatures had become pleasant and the house itself warmed up quite nicely. I come from the land of air conditioning due to more extreme winter and summer temperatures and feel that the cottage should be upgraded with a mini-split heat pump to allow for more automated year-round air control. Oh, you may ask what would I do in this cottage if it got very warm? I'm not sure. There was no fan anyplace in this location, so the only way to cool the place down is to open all the windows and hope for a breeze. The whole cottage was very clean. The kitchen was spotless along with the bathroom. There were sufficient dishwasher tablets and laundry soap for us to clean our dishes and run a few loads of laundry while we stayed there. Bathroom amenities were pretty limited. We were provided with one very small bottle of shampoo and one hotel sized bar of bath soap for the shower, bathroom sink, and kitchen sink, respectively. By the end of our stay the bars of soap were completely used and the one bottle of shampoo was also gone. Towels and washcloths were plentiful and in good condition when we arrived. Heating and air conditioning issues aside, this is a prime location, close to beach, not far from downtown Seaside, very clean, and well maintained. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.see more

Great stay

We had a great time at this beach house. It was very spacious and had everything we needed. The walking distance to the prom was very enjoyable. The kids loved the game room and learning how to play pool. … see more
