“**Psst! Hidden gem that's pet-friendly!” This was our second stay at Pop's Cabin/Cottage and it is our favorite place to relax. Looking for amazing ocean views? This little place has 180 degree view of the mighty Pacific. Perfect place for storm watching! Very well stocked kitchen with amazing coffee and everything you could possibly want. Very quaint with new furniture, wood burning fireplace (wood provided!) This is a little hidden gem that we are so thankful to have found. Great environmentally conscious owner provides fair trade locally roasted coffee that is delicious. I can't say enough about how much we love this cottage.

“Our stay was a great experience!” The Bayside Bungalow in Lincoln City is a beautiful, clean and fully-equipped home. We enjoyed the views, the hot tub, roasting marshmallows and exploring on a very quiet beach. We enjoyed seeing sea lions on our beach, kite-flying and watching wind surfers right from the house! Lincoln City was a great locatin for us as we had siteseeing planned both north and south of the house. The home is equipped with everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. We will be back someday to the beautiful Oregon coastline and will definately look at staying again at the Bayside Bungalow.

“Fun and relaxing place to stay” Nice, newer home with a great open floor plan, large kitchen, waterfront, yet private deck, easy beach access, includes extra like kayaks, bikes, game tables in the garage. Comfortable sleeping for a dozen. 2 bathrooms, and a 3rd bathroom option is a short walk away at the public park next door. Great view of setting sun over the bay from deck or from numerous windows in the house. We had a fun and relaxing week here. We'll come back as soon as we can!

About Newport

Newport is a shining example of all the benefits offered by a vacation in Oregon. This inviting waterfront city has beautiful beaches, delicious local restaurants, and an array of high-end shopping to keep all interests satisfied. Of course, being on the Oregon coast allows for endless outdoor activities.

Newport’s mild and wet climate means that travelers should not expect an entirely sunny trip. Temperatures hover in the 60s the majority of the year. Winter is typically the rainiest season, but savvy travelers bring a raincoat any time of year they choose to visit Newport.

The ocean is the star of the show in Newport. Historic Nye Beach, with its colorful cottages and laid-back atmosphere, is the perfect spot for a picnic and a quick rest from all the sightseeing. You can watch the surfers tempt fate on massive waves at the Devil’s Punchbowl State Natural Area.

Newport is home to two lighthouses, one of which is the tallest on the Oregon Coast. Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is thought to be the oldest building in the city. Take the self-guided tour up the spiral staircase to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy the Oregon coastal views.

Head over to the Oregon Coast Aquarium where you can pet an octopus and walk through a glass tunnel surrounded by sharks. At the aquarium, you can see more than 15,000 marine species, including sharks, otters, tropical fish and octopuses. The aquarium also offers hands-on cruise programs that allow visitors to look for whales or pull crab pots. The kids will also love the Hatfield Marine Science Center where they can learn about tide pools, oceanography, tsunamis, and more.

The vibrant Newport arts community should not be ignored on your trip. The Newport Performing Arts Center offers world-class performances year-round, while the Visual Arts Center is the hub for fine crafts.

Newport is also a hotbed of tourist activity during their annual festivals. In February, head to the Newport Seafood & Wine Festival where fine wines and luscious seafood are served while local artists and craftsmen showcase their masterpieces. June brings the annual Celtic Festival, three action-packed days of competitions, Celtic foods, and musical performances.

Consider booking a vacation rental for your next visit to the Oregon coast and Newport. A cabin or seaside rental allow you the space, privacy, and amenities of home, for a fraction of the cost of a traditional hotel. Feel the spray of the salty sea as you gaze off your patio deck. Mingle with the locals as you find your favorite cafe or diner - or cook your own meals in the rental’s full kitchen. Of course, you’ll be getting caked in mud during your hiking excursions, so many rentals come with an extra perk of a washer/dryer combo to keep clothes clean.

The marine life, local culture, and fresh seafood make Newport a must-visit this year. Start dreaming of your next Newport vacation and book today on FlipKey!

Newport, Oregon Coast Bluff Cottage, Stunning VIEW
An amazing vacation!

The view alone at Pop's Cottage was worth the stay. We were there for 8 nights and enjoyed our time relaxing, playing card games, and seeing and listening to the ocean each day. The sunsets are amazing! We drove the entire coast, whale watched, hiked, and played on the beach and in the water. Pop's Cottage was the perfect place for our vacation home base!see more

Awesome view and privacy but there are some issues with accessibility

We loved this vacation rental despite the fact that there are some issues that included not really being accessible as promised. The website lists the rental as elder and wheelchair accessible. There is no grab bar in the shower and the ramp is not smooth enough at the bottom to accommodate my husband's scooter which he uses to get around. (There is a several inch gap that his scooter could not get over.) He managed to get up the ramp with his walker and we made do but that meant that I had to disassemble the scooter and carry each piece up into the rental so we could charge it up. Another issue we had was that the sliding glass door screen would not slide and is in pretty bad shape. In addition, the television is so high up on the wall that one gets a neck ache trying to watch it and the fridge has a missing door shelf and is really too small even though there is room for a larger one. Otherwise this is a great place. It is truly private and secluded and the view is magnificent. The deck is quite large. The work on the inside to upgrade the unit was very nicely done. The art work is tasteful. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped although I would bring my own knives next time. The owner even provided some nice chocolates, good coffee and fresh cut flowers from the garden in a vase on the table. We looked for a broom but didn't find one and would have liked to sweep up a little.see more
