“Ideal family country cottage” Perfect location for exploring the surrounding area, within sight of The Roaches; Reservoir, Adventure Playground and good food served at the Lazy Trout Pub, all within walking distance. The cottage was ideal for our family of 12 ranging from 18mths to over 60! A warm welcome was given by the owners, nothing was too much trouble, everything we needed was availble. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend, celebrating a 40th Birthday, even the weather was on our side!

“Excellent holiday” We had a wonderful family holiday at Gun End Cottage, plenty of lovely walks near to a number of National Trust properties and the wonderful views from the conservatory were second to none. The cottage had every thing one required for eight of us, comfortable beds, a lovely sitting room where we were able to enjoy a log fire when the evening chilled although the central heating was more than adequate. We are certainly going to put it on the list for a return stay. Thanks ladies for the careful renovation it was really appreciated.

“An all round first class house and location.” Indoor facilities first class. Bags of space without ten of us "living on top of each other" Good pub doing huge meals at good prices only walking distance away. The week we were at Ipstones was not good but the log fire with no restrictions on use of logs was a first class bonus. No shortage of facilities in the catering - loads of cooking utensils and glasses etc. All ion all a very pleasurable and memorable stay.

And the most important a really nice bottle of Prosecco, Hubby does not drink so had it to myself. Happy days. Thank you Diane. Gail and Paddy.see more

Fantastic Cottage in the Woods with all the Modern Conveniences...

Located in the beautiful countryside with peace and quiet but near enough to towns, villages, and many interesting sites to explore. Woodland Cottage is still fairly new and so it is in excellent condition, very clean, and extremely comfortable. Ian and Victoria are a very welcoming and friendly couple making us feel right at home. Ian treated us to some of his delicious baking which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our stay in Woodland Cottage was so enjoyable we were sad to leave it. We will certainly be recommending this cottage and wonderful couple to our friends and family - we might even come back again!see more

Lovely cottage clean and comfortable, well equipped with everything you need. Warm friendly greeting from the family. Good centre for touring the Peak District.
