“Connecting with the land” My girlfriend (Katherine) and I stayed here this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have been happier. Mary and Russel are incredibly nice people, and so are their miniature horses and donkeys! The cabin is absolutely beautiful with a fascinating history. I'm pretty sure Katie's life was changed by this weekend, as she now wants to own a farm with donkeys. I've already recommended this place to many of my friends and will continue to do so. Awesome rates for what you get! We are definitely coming back next year, if not in the next few months. I would love to see what its like to stay there with a blanket of snow on the ground. “A great escape!” We loved this place and a short drive to downtown Luray It was so welcoming and had everything we needed. Sharon is a great owner who goes over and beyond. We forgot our skillet and she mailed it to us immediately. I highly recommend this place and we will be back.

“Comfortable and huge.” My wife and I recently stayed here. While we only needed a place for the two of us, we were really impressed with the spaciousness and layout of this condo. We are thinking about returning with a larger family group. The living space is very comfortable and the bedrooms are also roomy. Location is close to downtown, Port Clinton, Cedar Point, or the ferries to the islands. The view out over the country club is beautiful. We would strongly recommend this rental to anyone interested in staying in Marblehead.

“Home away from home” I own my own business, so any time away is especially precious. Kilkelly's West Wing Cottage was the perfect fit. Unlike the institutional feel of a hotel room, the West Wing is like a home away from home. Immediately, we felt comfortable and relaxed. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept. The rooms were equipped with every possible item anyone would need, even a tea kettle and grill accessories for the gas grill. The commercial like ice maker was an unexpected surprise. They even provided a small cooler for day trips. Normally in a hotel room, I am loathe to touch anything and notice the dirt and traces of previous guests. Immediately you can see how clean and welcoming the West Wing is - I had no hesitation using any of the amenities. We are very picky travelers and the West Wing exceeded our expectations. The breakfast casserole was so good I even got the recipe! There are several televisions with satellite, DVD, Blue-Ray, etc - available but we never even turned them on. It was so relaxing enjoying the sunrise, sunset and mountain views, we had no need for the outside world. We would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend the West Wing! :)

“Cabin camp - remote but not too much...” This was perfect for what we were seeking. The cabin is well maintained and is as it was described. The fire ring was a great gathering space and the picnic table was perfect for dinner and breakfast. The interior was nice - definitely a cabin but not too rustic by any means. The access to Moshannon (hiking, canoeing, beach, etc.) was easy and Jackson's Bar & Grill a short drive (Winburne, PA) we had a perfect weekend. Communication with the owner was timely and easy.

“Great time” We had a great time in this house. First of all, there was not a speck of dirt when we moved in. The house is perfectly situated. 10 mins from Luray, 20 from Shenandoah River Outfitters and 10 from the Thorton Gap. We did a canoeing trip, two greats hikes and a rafting trip all in 4 full days. We could've easily stayed for more. We're looking forward to staying again...

“Perfect Family Vacation Spot!” We scoured this and other websites for two months looking for the perfect spot for our first vacation as a young family of four... and we found it at this lovely home! Around every corner was exciting new activities for both kids and adults. At the end of each day of our stay, my three-year-old and one-year-old each passed out with exhaustion after a day of playing at the beach, marveling at nearby waterfalls, exploring the lake via kayaks and canoes, and playing with the numerous toys and books throughout the house. And when they did pass out, we adults got to enjoy grilled steaks and a nice bottle of wine overlooking beautiful sunsets over the lake from the second floor deck. I think my three-year-old said it best: "I love the lake house daddy; can we come back again and again?" Indeed. Great owners as well -- thorough, clean, and responsive.

“Home Away from Home Only Better” We love this house. It is so warm and cozy. As soon as you step in, you feel right at home. There is plenty of room and open space. The fireplace and living room are incredibly tranquil. There is plenty of sleeping space and bathroom space. The bathrooms are updated and nice and clean. I love the that you don't feel on top of one another. The decor is warm. The views are incredible. We can only imagine how it will be in the summer with the Lake. I can't wait to come back. “Charming property inside and out with all the comforts of home” I recently stayed here with a group of friends looking for a short weekend getaway. The atmosphere was relaxed, everything functional, the beds comfortable, and the rooms clean and homey. Pat and Nadine were wonderful hosts and definitely put thought and effort in to creating an atmosphere that felt like home. Spacious rooms, bathroom, and a great meeting area downstairs with kitchen and dining area to hang out.

“Lovely place for family vacation!” This spacious log house was a perfect fit for our first family trip to Deep Creek. We had plenty of room for our group of 11 people (3 couples and 5 single adults). Everyone was pleased with the accommodations. It was clean, spacious and well equipped. John & Kathy Joyce were a pleasure to deal with. They were very helpful from beginning to end. We had such a good time that we hope to visit again next year.

“Beautiful, clean home in a perfect setting!” My husband, two year old daughter, dog and I just returned from a five night stay at Red Run Cabin. The home, although nothing fancy, was beautiful and well kept. We generally always stay in cabins or condos when we travel and this was by far the cleanest rental we've stayed in. It is located in a quiet, wooded neighborhood, with the lake right across the street with easy "beach" access. Our ten year old nephew who lives in the area and came to visit loved the game room with bumper pool and fooseball. We also made use of the plentiful board games available and watched several of the multitude of older movies to choose from when it was raining. Our family loved grilling out with us (charcoal and propane provided) and roasting smores over the firepit. My husband and I spent every night relaxing in the hot tub after our toddler and dog had settled in for the night. The home does not have air conditioning (which I believe is common for the area) but plenty of fans that allowed us to stay fairly comfortable in the Springtime mid 70's weather. The kitchen was equipped very well, although it may be time to invest in some new knives. John, the owner, was a very kind and patient and you can tell he takes great pride in his rentals. Whenever we come this way again, we will definitely return to Red Run Cabin.
