“Perfect relaxing get-away cottage” This was such a perfect place to be, we wished we had more time to stay! The comfortable charm of this house made us relax and feel like we were home away from our homes. The setting was peaceful and tucked away from any traffic hustle and bustle. We were also close enough to amenities and 'downtown' to walk where we might want to go. We felt very fortunate to find this amazing rental that Joseph is gracious enough to share - thank you again!!

About Berkeley Springs, West Virginia

Berkeley Springs is a small town in Morgan County that’s centered around the natural mineral water springs that gave the town its name.

These idyllic crystal clear waters were first discovered by the Native Americans, but now draw visitors from urban areas who are looking to relax, and have done so for centuries – this destination was a favorite of famous names like George Washington and James Rumsey.

Berkeley Springs was nicknamed 'America's first spa’. Now, you have four to choose from. All are kept at a constant temperature of 74.3 F, and it’s estimated that 2,000 gallons of clear, sparkling water fall per minute.

The weather in Berkeley Springs is somewhat changeable – there are four seasons, so pick your travel dates to match your favorite. Summers are warm and winter is unpredictable, but there's nothing quite like stepping out of the cold into a hot spring... It's completely up to you!

What to do

Obviously, you have to take a dip in the springs. Whether you select the roman baths or outdoor swimming pool, it really doesn't matter. You'll get great views of the hillside and will have an experience unlike any other.

For an adventure, head to nearby Cacapon Resort State Park. It's not too far and has lots of things to try out.

Have a round of golf, or go hiking through the hills. Try out some watersports – kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming are all available here! It's the best place for an adventure.

For a truly breathtaking view, climb to Prospect Peak and look out across the beautiful landscape below.

To find out more about the town and the history of the springs by visiting the Museum of Berkeley Springs.

If anyone's a fan of stargazing, head to the Morgan County Observatory. There are fantastic views of the sky even on the drive up! It's perfect for families, and the kids will certainly learn a lot about the night sky.

Lastly, finish off a hard day at the spa by having a cool beer from the Berkeley Spring Brewing Company. They use the mineral water too, so it has a very fresh taste.

Berkeley House
Absolutely loved it, very clean and comfortable.

We loved Berkeley House and plan on going back and will recommend it to family, friends and colleagues. We appreciate all of the nice amenities such as shampoos, soaps, lotions, filtered water in fridge, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, spices, etc.; they thought of everything. We thoroughly enjoyed using the pool table, dart board and games, plus we enjoyed playing the piano, despite our lack of experience. We loved the town of Berkeley Springs and enjoyed the private Roman baths, restaurants/bars, shops/antique stores, Octoberfest, and Berkeley Brewing Company. We cannot wait to return for more!see more
