Description

An all-wooden chalet with south facing balcony and terrace situated in the heart of Borovets, the oldest ski and mountain resort in Bulgaria. It is in a quiet spot by ancient pine trees, within 3 min walk of shops and amenities. The gondola is a 4 min walk away. It is one of very few detached properties for rent in central Borovets, and manages to give the best of both worlds; in the centre, yet providing your own quiet space to come home to. The chalet is well insulated and very comfortable in all weathers. The master bedroom upstairs opens to the balcony, with a view of the mountain, and the terrace provides plenty of space for enjoying the sun or eating outside in the summer. There is an open plan living room with lounge area, kitchenette and dining table. There is a sauna which is perfect to relax in after a tiring day's skiing or other mountain activities. Linen and towels are provided and the chalet is cleaned daily. The chalet has WIFI , cable TV, and DVD player.


The resort: The chalet is in the beautiful ski and summer resort of Borovets, in the Rila mountains. It is amongst pine trees and close to a stream, which our children enjoyed playing around. The shops and restaurants are under 5 mins away. The resort is popular with families and groups of friends. It is great value and is a very friendly place. The amenities in the hotels, such as swimming, games, gym are available to use. The town of Samokov is 10 mins away by taxi/bus, and Sofia, the capital, with its extensive shopping and sightseeing, is only a 70 minute drive away.

Summer holidays: Borovets is peaceful and relaxing in summer. The mountains are carpeted with wild flowers, and there are numerous beautiful walks. Spectacular views, can be had from Mussala, the Balkan peninsula's highest peak (2,925m). The Gondola is open for access to the high walks, or for a long walk back down following the Mussala pathway. Guides are available for short walks and overnight treks, also for hunting and fishing, and off road drives through the mountains for a wilder view of nature. Horse-riding, mountain-biking, and tennis can be found in the resort and Lake Iskar, which has a variety of watersports, 20km away.

Resort activites: Swimming, bowling, gyms, shooting range, games, solariums, jacuzzi and massage are available at the large hotels. There is also horse-riding, toboganning, ski-doos, sleigh rides, & cleared walks in winter.

There are numerous restaurants with a wide range of international cuisine at exceptionally good value, and many friendly bars. The apres ski has something for everyone. For those who like a late night there are nightclubs and discos which are very lively.

“Brilliant Chalet in a lovely location”

Perfect chalet for a family snow holiday. Everything you need. Lovely setting just 5 minutes walk from the centre of borovets but set in a nice pine forest so it feels very quiet and rural. There are several great restaurants very close to the chalet. Sauna was a nice bonus and nice to relax in after a hard day on the slopes. The chalet was clean and very warm. There are not many properties in borovets that are big enough for a family of five or six however chalet Rachel can comfortably accommodate five or six people. We loved it so much that we’ve booked again for next year. Thank you to Aiden and Rachel - the chalet was a wonderful base for a magical week in borovets.

“Scum booking from Holiday Lettings”

My booking was canceled by your platform. Without any warning or call. You kept my initial deposit and never returned. After that I booked the next door chalet with real agency and people who are answering phone. Just returned from my Holiday and it was excellent. I hope no one ever will book through Holiday Lettings. Vlatko

Really sorry the ski lifts were closed for your stay, which I understand was a real disappointment (and that you had no luck with your insurers!). It is always a risk at that time of year which is why you were only charged summer rates. (Ski season is more expensive). I have taken note of all your comments and will check on everything. The upstairs door certainly should lock, always has done and I will have that fixed if necessary. Same with any missing kitchen equipment. I always give four numbers for guests to call for anything they need or would like help with. Very strange to hear abut the man looking in, I wonder if he was there to fix the boiler -very bad luck for you again - but I did get them onto it immediately. We've never had any reports of that sort of behaviour before, and the firemen are always very friendly. The other building is part of Borosports who manage the ski area. It is usually very quiet but maybe as the season had just ended there was more activity. It's not a workmen's hostel.There is no assigned parking in any of the spaces. Anyway glad to hear you would consider returning and you were able to give us three stars! All the best, Rachel
