Description

Ballyclough Cottage is one of several cottages located on the hills above the coastal town of Portballintrae and Bushmills. It has magnificent views over fields down to the sea. The cottages sleeps up to 4 and is ideal for family holidays or those looking for peace and quiet.

The cottage is ideally located for coastal walks, fishing, golf, pony trekking and as a touring base. It is close to the many attractions of the Causeway Coast including the Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Dunluce Castle and the superb White Rocks beach. There is a range of restaurants in the village and the immediate surrounding area.

“Chilled girls”

Just spent a fabulous, relaxed and fun filled weekend in this beautiful home. We had everything we needed including amazing sunset views over the ocean. We loved the really comfy accomodation and the design of the home from decor to design upstairs reversed to.. living accommodation upstairs to make the most of beautiful view. We saw Irish hares in the field we overlooked and an owl flying in the local trees, when relaxing on the balcony. It was also a great base that avoided the busyness of local areas, but was still very accessible. Special time with good chums! Thank you

“Dated”

The cottage is very clean but the furniture and kitchen are very dated. In need of a new couch. The cottage is very cold only having electric storage heaters. There is an open fire but a hole in the grate meant all the wood, coal just fell through. Wouldn’t go in the cold months. While using the cooker the glass fell off not very safe at all. So had to eat out. Was getting replaced but didn’t happen while there. Fiona was easy to contact and she tried to solve any problems quickly.

Lovely cottage with sea views and surrounded by fields. Peaceful, quiet. No noise from trains, planes or road traffic. Comfortable accommodation. Highly recommended.

“Enjoyable escape”

We spent a week here in mixed weather but it was great to escape from home. Relaxed, swam in the sea a couple of days. Cottage was bright and cheerful. Perfect quiet setting overlooking Portballintrae and the sea from the rear balcony. We would go back again.
