Description
This lovely North Burgundian property situated set back from a quiet road started as a very small 1 up, 1 down house and an adjoining apartment. They have now been renovated and combined into 1 large house on different levels. The property is entered by the ground floor kitchen which is well equipped and has a Burgundy stone floor. There is a family room above reached by a steep wooden staircase. The family room is very light with whitewashed walls and original beams. A few wooden steps up from the kitchen is a lovely sitting room with leather furniture and beautiful original wooden floor. Another step up leads to a hallway along to the bathroom and a single room with a day bed and curtain for privacy from the hallway. Then on to a small hallway with the double bedroom going off and a door leading outside with stone steps down to the courtyard. The large courtyard is shared with the owners other holiday property. There is a private lawned garden for guests to use at the end of the courtyard up some stone steps (the other property has it's own garden). The village centre is within easy walking distance and has a supermarket, bar, pharmacy, two boulangeries, wine shop, garage and a flower shop. There are many places of interest to visit within a short distance. Marceney Lake with a small man made beach is only 5 mins away by car. Semur en Auxois also with a swimming Lake, Buffon tower and museum in Montbard which also has a TGV station. There is the Roman Fort of Alessia with it's new visitor Centre at Lenarey les Laumes. The nearest cities to visit are Troyes 43 miles, Dijon 46 miles, Auxerre 45 miles. Paris is a 2.5 hour drive passing the historic chateau at Fontainebleau. Reims is 2 hours away by car. Being so close to the Champagne border there are two wine routes to follow. A visit to Les Ricey is well worth a visit for Champagne tasting and Chablis is less than an hours drive away. Cyclists will enjoy quiet roads and forest tracks. Chatillon sur Seine at 12km and Montbard at 18 km are the nearest towns to the property. Both towns have ample shopping facilities with major supermarket chains, they both have swimming pools. Wi'fi access is available locally. All bedding, towels etc are included.
