Description
Casa Colognola is located in Cingoli, in the heart of the Marches, The New Tuscany. Its renovation took 5 years. The outside style has been preserved as the building is protected by the Italian Cultural and History Administration, therefore the original construction made of natural stone walls and ancient oak beams has been kept, but the inside has been entirely re-organised according to a luxurious, high comfortable and contemporary style.
The builing dates back to the XVIII century and originally hosted a convent. It has been for a very long time (untill about 100 years ago) the only builing in the area, and with it's dominating position it overlooked it's 30 hectars of land.
The house is organized on two floors over a total 300 sqare meters (aproximately 3200 square feet) and has a very unique layout: double height celinings and marble pool in the living room, extremely spacious beedrooms with views to all sides of the house, private living room on the upper floor with view down to the pool and out to the rolling hills and vineyards. The house offers 6 sleeps in 3 bedrooms: two of which with king size beds and en-suite bathrooms, and one with two single beds.
Grounf Floor: Entrance, Kitchen, Living Room with pool, Fireplace room, bedroom with two single beds, bathroom.
First Floor: Two Bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and closet placed on opposite sides of the house, with in between a Living room and office overlooking the ground floor living area with pool.
Being located in a very panormic position, the ouside area offers a great sense of openess, with wonderfull views to the three neigouring towns of Cingoli, Cupramontana and Staffolo, and at the same time a full feeling of privacy.
Facing west to the wineyards of our neighbour, is a spacious pergola, perfect for aperitivos.
The House hosts a spacious (40 square meters) and fully equiped kitchen with ventilated baking oven, steam oven, side by side fridge with freezer and ice maker, dishwasher, double sink, pots, pans, and a breakfast bar.
In addition we have an outdoor kitchen, where it is wonderfull to cook luch or even have breakfast, as it is exposed to the East and therefore has amazing views to the rising sun -on very clear days you can admire the Adriatic sea in the distance.
The house is located in the famed "Castelli di Jesi" area: rolling hills of olive trees and vineyards. In the last decade this hidden treasure of Italy has been "discovered" therefore next to the traditional farmer's house you will find renovated old stone buildings (such as this one) that make wonderfull vacation homes to Dutch, British, Germans, French and, why not... Italians!
Casa Colognola is basically equidistant to the medieval towns of Cupramontana, Aprio, Cingoli and Staffolo. Each one with a variaty of restaurants, shops and caffes, and with its own market day (a perfect occasion to buy biological local products!).
A true highlight is the beautiful lake of Cingoli, located 5 minutes from the house, where you relax with children and pets, have a coffee or a (email hidden); or go in the evening the enjoy the fatastic Antipasti of the restaurant "Lo Smeraldo" (it's really worth it!).
Also close by (45km) is the stunning Riviera del Conero, with its superb collection of beaches and cliffs into the cristalline waters of the Adriatic sea.
In the house you will find a book containing all relevant information of the area: restaurants (shall you decide not to cook at home), points of interest, activities for children and adults, market day, local producers of oil, chees, wine etc.
Our House manager will greet you upon arrival and will come at the time of your departure. You will be given his telephone number in case you should have any doubts or requests during your stay.
If you request we can organize housekeeping, whether it be daily, every two days... how ever you want! Fees will apply, please contact us for details.
Please feel free to contact me for any special requests, such as a pre-paid phone card to avoid roaming costs, a baby sitter, pet sitter, pick up service from airport or train station.
Please note that as per italian regulation heating is only active COtober 15th through April 15th.
