“Lovely house in a lovely village”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2019

A lovely rambling cotswold stone house in a rambling and quite grand cotswold stone village complete with its own river running down the centre of the valley. A wonderful dining-room en-suite with the (huge) kitchen allows everybody to sit round the same table in spacious comfort. The wood-burning stove in the dining room was really useful - making everything toasty in a way only a real fire can do, even when the temperature went down to 2deg. A similar stove in the living room defeated us but the C heating did a good job so no worries there. As the house is really 2 houses combined, there are lots of changes in direction and level. The kids thought it was wonderful - an adventure playground en-suite with their bedrooms! Beyond the utility room, there is also a snug/den/play/TV room which kept them quiet for some of the time. Generous bedrooms, 2 with en-suite bathrooms and 2 other bedrooms with a bathroom on the opposite side of the corridor. 5th bedroom with adjacent bathroom on it's own on the other side of the staircase was perfect for the grandparents enjoying extra snooze time in the mornings. Big terrace with a neat and pretty garden which we couldn't use much as it was end October and the temperature took a savage turn downwards. Mobile phone signal so poor as to be essentially non-existent but the wifi, although variable with a mind of its own, never actually let us down even though a change of seat was sometimes necessary to complete something. Easy parking for 3 cars although the exit to the main road was a bit of a cross-your-fingers and hope thing. Didn't cause a problem for us as the road is quiet and the traffic infrequent. A most peaceful and enjoyable stay relished by 1 set of grandparents with 2 sets of children each with their own children – 10 in all.

“Birthday weekend”

Reviewed 7 Mar 2017

Wilson is a beautiful Cotswold village. Although there are no shops or pubs it is only a short distance to either. The house is clean and comfortable with plenty of space for the nine adults to spend time with each other and to have personal space when required! Plenty of parking (5 cars) and a lovely garden with good views. Best of all we all had comfortable beds and enough bathrooms/showers to keep us satisfied. The large kitchen/diner was exactly what was needed for a birthday dinner and the two pubs visited in Barbsley and Foss Cross served excellent food. In a nutshell it did what it said on the tin!

“Perfect house in an idyllic Cotswold village”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2015

We have stayed in Millbank House for the last three years for the Cheltenham NH Festival. The house is extremely warm, comfy, and well equipped. It is suitable for family groups or groups of friends. The bedrooms are spacious with good quality and comfortable beds. There is plenty space for hanging and storing clothes. The whole house is pleasantly decorated. The kitchen/dining area is lovely with french windows leading out onto the terrace. It has two fridges and a deep freeze which make it suitable for catering for bigger groups. We have had 16 people to dinner on one occasion! (We did bring some of our own cutlery and plates for that number) When there was a problem with the plumbing the owners were extremely helpful and got a plumber to put things right very promptly. Winson is a charming village with wonderful walks, I only wish we could stay there in the summer, but we are already looking forward to returning in 2016.

We had a lovely stay at Mill Bank House. The property was immaculate and spacious, great for our group of extended family which ranged from 4 months to 70. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, perfect for the keen cooks in our group. Wine and chocolates left for our arrival was a pleasant surprise! Heidi the owner was quick to respond to any questions we had and ensured we had an enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend!
