Description
La Merlerie is millers cottage with adjacent water mill built in 1896 which was working until the 1970's milling flour & feed for local farmers. Since then it was purchased by a French artist from Paris and converted to a holiday home. La Merlerie is now owned by a British farmily who have finished the pretty cottage to a high standard with en suite bathrooms, new kitchen kitchen & dining facilities. Below the house and overlooking the water meadow is a large terrace area with sun loungers and tables, 10m x 5m salt water pool (no chlorine) heated if required at extra cost. There is a cellar/games room with pool games table and 5 bicyles for residents use.
The grounds surrounding the house include the mill pond, formal gardens and water meadow running away to the boundary stream that is the river Oeil. This is a truly rural and peaceful location. Within 2 kilometres we have a boulangerie. A country town which has supermarkets, banks, pharmacy & most useful shops is 10 minutes distance by car.

“Excellent Fun in the Pool”
The location is beautiful and peaceful. The house spacious and clean and the hosts David & Carrie went above and beyond to ensure the holiday ran smoothly. Many thanks to them - anyone staying here is in for a treat. The pool was superb.

“Very relaxing holiday”
We had a lovely holiday at this property. The property itself is extremely well equipped and provided everything we needed for a great stay. The owners were very accommodating and helpful. The area it's self is very quiet and rural, which suited us we wanted a quiet holiday. It was lovely every morning to be able to open all of the downstairs windows to a beautiful view.
