Description
WITH 12 BEAUTIFUL BEACHES WITHIN 8 kms, Pebbles is ideally located. It is a small and cosy gite renovated using natural stone and wood in Breton style, and furnished to a high standard. Downstairs there is a brand new living room/kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, DVD player and music centre. There is also an attractive tiled shower room with toilet and basin. The staircase leads to a twin-bedded room with connecting double bedrooms, ideal for a family of three or four if the fourth person is a child (bed 4 is a zed or click-clack bed). . Outside is a small patio which faces the sun in the evening, and has furniture and small barbecue. Pebbles is situated at Kergalet, a tiny sleepy hamlet just outside Crozon and about six miles from Camaret-sur-Mer. Our nearest village with boulangerie is Lanveoc about 1.5 miles, and the town of Crozon with supermarkets and shops, cafes, bars and restaurants is just 2 miles away. Enchanting Camaret has numerous restaurants, bars and cafes. Camaret is also famous for its artists' quarter and the fort and church on the breakwater.

“Not the holiday home we had hoped for...”
The house is in a very beautiful area and is in a great location to travel around the peninsula. Unfortunately there were a number of issues. Firstly we were disappointed to find the house very dirty on arrival - dust, cobwebs, mouse droppings, dead insects in cupboards. The owner gave us €100 and made efforts to improve the cleanliness. We then thoroughly cleaned the house ourselves. We are a couple with two teenage children. We were aware that the accomodation was going to be small. However this home is NOT suitable for 4 people. We had a small sofa to seat 2 people. No space to store food in cupboards, only one shelf in the fridge. Drawers and wardrobe space were insufficient. There is only one real bed. The rest are camp beds - the double bed is a camp bed using futon mattresses piled up. Very uncomfortable for 2 weeks. The other camp bed was too short for our 13 year old daughter. All bedding is very old. Pillows have no filling. Sheets are bobbly. We spoke to the owner about all these issues also. He provided one additional armchair. He was also helpful in providing maps and local information. We composed this review as a family. It reflects our experience honestly and hope that improvements will be made for future visitors.

Response from the owner The gite, as described on the site, is small - fine for a young family but too small for 4 adult sized people for two weeks. Cleanliness on arrival had indeed been not up to standard, but 4 hours of deep cleaning and a partial refund were applied as compensation. Description of the futon double as a camp bed, of the necessity for extra cleaning post the remedies, and the age of the bedding are fanciful.

“A quiet Brittany location suitable for all age and interest groups.”
We visit a different part of France every year invariably in a gite and found the welcome and standard of accommodation offered by Pebbles to be of an excellent standard. We liked the quiet, rural location (inc. own garden), yet within easy access to safe sandy beaches,glorious coastal walks and friendly market and seaside towns. All this and within easy reach from Roscoff too!.
