Looking for lashings of quiet space, oodles of fresh air and miles of beaches? Recharge your batteries in comfortable, sun & rain soaked surroundings (well this is Devon).

If you are craving a quiet getaway by the sea. If you want to be close to all that Devon has to offer but prefer to be tucked away from the hullabaloo with space around you, then this cosy caravan could be pleasing to your senses as well as your pocket. Fitted out with quality furnishings and sumptuous bedding you'll feel like you are in the home of a good friend. In winter snuggle on the sofa, in spring laze in bed with a cuppa, in the summer flake out on the sunny decking and in autumn watch the sun glint off the estuary.

The Blue Water site provides lots of space between homes, panoramic views up the Exe estuary and attracts those looking for relaxation and quiet contemplation. A chance to spend quality time with loved ones rather than being shoulder to shoulder with the hoards.

Dawlish Warren is a traditional seaside resort and an excellent base for walkers and cyclists, with fantastic coastal scenery on the doorstep and the lure of the moors but a few miles away. It is at the heart of a region burgeoning with proper pubs, micro breweries, a passion for local produce, outside events, historical sites and acres and acres of natural beauty. Soft sand by the bucketload once more stretches along Dawlish Warren beach. Come and encrust your toes, revel in the sound of sea gulls, bright coloured beach huts, melting ice cream cones and the tang of the sea.

Getting around

The train station at Dawlish Warren gives you easy access to the South West. be it short jaunt up the line to Exeter or a longer trip down to Cornwall. The local train journeys are some of the most scenic in the country and are very popular with our guests.

We try to welcome our guests personally to show you where everything is in The Lady May and (if you need them) give you directions on local spots to visit and eat out. We are local so are at the end of the phone should you need anything during your stay. If you have little ones we can provide a cot and well behaved doggy guests are welcome.

“Needs Some upgrading”

A good base for visiting lots of lovely places nearby. The caravan is on a nice quiet site. The host was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and where to eat etc. It’s a cosy caravan but feel it needs some extra TLC. We found the tv to be very tiny and in need of an upgrade. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable and we could feel the springs in the mattress, sleep quality was poor. Cupboard and freezer box still had previous guests food in them, in these COVID time we feel these items should have been removed. Towels provided were very faded and tatty, glad we took our own. With some extra TLC and upgrading this would be a lovely place to stay.

Response from the owner Hi Shirley We wish you had let us know about the mattress as we have extra toppers for when guests request them. It has been an exceptional season and the large towel turnover has had an impact on their colour. We would have happily removed the frozen items - they pose no threat and we do not believe in throwing things away that guests may find useful. Many of the staples like tea, coffe, vinegar & oil are what we have provided so guests do not incur the extra expense. We do not believe you come on holiday to watch television and the set we have has a built-in DVD player. The Lady May is a lovely place to stay as is attested by the very large numbers of guests who return regularly.

“Lovely cosy caravan In quiet area with great views”

Communication with Ruth was excellent from the outset . Previous reviews were spot on. Lovely cream tea to welcome us. Ruth popped over to see we were ok and was very helpful with recommendations. Always on hand if we needed anything. Recommend the funghi farm shop for a great breakfast. Lovely shop too. Great fish and chips in Dawlish . Really comfortable & peaceful caravan . Site was quiet with no entertainment which we like. Excellent shower. Thanks for a great stay Ruth and for contacting us straight away to let us know we had left a wallet and food items. Most appreciated. Hope to be back Again soon
