“Amazing experience!” My first trip to Sri Lanka was a truly amazing experience and the icing on the cake was my stay at Frangipani House. The house is set in tranquil surroundings, overlooking paddy fields, a peaceful place to recharge the batteries . Far enough away from the hustle & bustle but close enough to beaches & attractions within minutes- the best of both worlds! Frangipani House & Ranil the property host are first class. Nothing is too much trouble for Ranil, his hosting & cooking skills are superb & second to none, as well as his knowledge of this beautiful country. I would highly recommend a stay at Frangipani House, I can't wait to go back!

“Amazing!!” We had an amazing time at The Teak House for 6 nights. The house is beautiful with everything you need - large bedrooms with comfy beds, tastefully decorated, a spacious and breezy living area, gorgeous garden with hammocks and views to the sea. The beach is a short (2 mins) walk down the lane at the bottom of the garden. It is a lovely sandy beach which is safe to swim in. The waves are great fun and we enjoyed hours of boogie boarding (2 boards at The Teak House). The sea may be quite rough for very young or timid children but our 9 and 7 year old loved it! Roshan and his brother are at the house to look after you and cook fabulous meals. Nicola, the owner, was really helpful when we were planning our trip and even put us in touch with a local driver who we used for our whole stay (we would also recommend Sujith if you need a driver!). All in all we had a fantastic time and I would not hesitate to recommend The Teak House.

“A dream at the ocean” Arriving at the Villa (southpointvilla.com) the staff will greet you with a refreshing cloth and a delicous icecold drink. After passing the pool and a beautiful covered resting area you use a lightly curved bridge over a coy pond to enter the Villa. This Villa is located within a big garden, adjacent to a swimming pool, a grassy area, flowers and literally steps away from a beautiful, clean and quiet sandy beach for swimming and walking. Opposite the Villa, a coral reef invites you to snorkel and observe colorful fish. Lounge chairs and fresh towls are always provided. 3 bedrooms (TV, fans, AC) four-poster-beds, mosquito-nets, antique furniture, modern bathrooms - beautiful sink areas - always hot water - , fresh towls, shampoo and bathgels. One has a pool-garden-view, two have a garden/ocean-view and access to the deck. Inside and outside covered sitting-areas - including dining - w/ garden-ocean view. Staff is magnificent: they can arrange for everything (rental car, bicycles, boats, fishing, tours etc.) Laundry can be taken care of. Chef and his crew outstanding: the whole time such delicacies were created, that we never even got the idea of going out to eat somewhere else. Excursions: two National Parks "Uda Walawe" and "Yala" are not too far, teaplantations, Galle with its beautiful Fort and shopping in the city, a lake, other beaches and bays are nearby --- no nightlife.

“A Perfect hideaway on the Beach” Never did I expect to find such a beautiful serene beach house off the main road away from Galle. This former fisherman's house is perched at the end of a fishermen's beach and set up slightly from the beach under the shade of trees. You approach the house end on and walk along the cool veranda, past the large sitting area with huge blue day mattresses to sleep on, past the kitchen and hammocks to individual bedrooms with vast beds and ensuite bathrooms. Upstairs are a further 3 bedrooms off a veranda with views of the bay. The house is tastefully painted in shades of green and blue and has a simple but sophisticated feel about it. The place is idyllic. What better place to stay in Sri Lanka than here? Walk right along the bay, swimming and sea shell hunting. Have a cocktail whilst your cook creates a meal from local produce and fish as you watch the fishermen bring in their boats whilst the sun sets? What could be better?
