Dragon's Mist is a luxurious self-contained cottage on a large secure upmarket eco estate, with free roaming game and nature walks on the estate.
The private estate is home to an abundance of indigenous game species including Blesbuck, Reedbuck, Eland, Black Wildebeest, Mountain Reedbuck, Red Hartebeest, Buck and Duiker.
Dragon's Mist offering 3 luxurious bedrooms each boasting ensuite bathrooms.
The patio, overlooking the private natural swimming pool has comfortable outdoor furniture an eating area and built-in barbeque/braai.
The living area, offers open-plan living with loungesuite, satellite entertainment and dining area.
The kitchen is very well equipped.
The ensuite bathrooms offer toiletries, soap, towels, showers and baths.
The lounge has a fireplace for cosy cold evening together with a 42 inch television and Cable/satellite TV.
An array of activities can be enjoyed on the estate and surroundings, including canopy tours, hiking, golf, swimming, boating, trout fishing, horse riding & hot air ballooning or just relax and read a book. Free private parking is available within a double garage with remote access.
The famous Drakensberg Boys Choir is also approximately 10 minutes drive for the estate.
The Drakensberg borders Lesotho and runs down to the Eastern and Southern Cape. The peaks reach over 3000m in height. 'The Mountain of Dragons” is the highest peak in Southern Africa and is where the mighty Tugela River rises on the Mont-aux-Sources Plateau, cascading & forming the “Tugela Falls”. Okhahlamba is the Zulu word for “Barrier of Spears”, once home to ancient KhoiSan hunter-gatherers.
The Drakensberg (derived from the Afrikaans name Drakensberg meaning "Dragon Mountains") is the name given to the eastern portion of the Great Escarpment, which encloses the central Southern African plateau. The Great Escarpment reaches its greatest altitude in this region (2000 – 3000 m).
The Drakensberg escarpment stretches for over 1000 km from the Eastern Cape Province in the South, then successively forms, in order from south to north, the border between Lesotho and the eastern Cape and the border between Lesotho and KwaZulu-Natal Province. Thereafter it forms the border between KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State, and next as the border between KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga Province. It winds north, through Mpumalanga, as far as Tzaneen in Limpopo Province, from where it veers west. At Potgietersrust it is known as the Strydpoort Mountains.

“Good property with amazing view”
Quiet location on a secure estate, fantastic view. All mod cons as expected with one exception, no air con in bedrooms and it was incredibly hot during our stay.
