Description

The apartment is situated in Lapad, the quietest part of Dubrovnik with a partly view of the beach, hilltop “Petka” and the open sea. It is a part of the villa with an art gallery “Marijan” and offers you a personal and cultivated atmosphere. The bus "stop" so you can go to the "Old Town" is only 20 meters from the house, and you only need to travel for 15 minutes to get there.

The complex was the villa with art atelier of Prof. Marijan Kockovic, one of ex-Yugoslavia’s most famous sculptors, with his sculptures and artworks found across the world, especially in the U.S.A.

Many celebrities, such as Elisabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Sophia Loren, Yul Brinner, Mikis Theodorakis – the famous greece composer, President Tito, mr.Abe Pritzker, Gaby Sayfert, mrs. Edna Firth Lemle, found the perfect shade in the beautiful garden gallery during posing or just during their rest.

President J. F. Kennedy, mr. Armand Hammer and many others also had their bust made by famous sculptor Marijan.

If you are looking for a place designed and built in collaboration with nature, with artistic surroundings, this is the place for you.

“Great location and very welcoming”

The apartment is in a great location, very close to the beach, but also close enough to the Old Town to visit attractions and enjoy a meal within the atmospheric city walls. On the suggestion of our hosts, we made use of the newly launched Uber app to get cars in and out of the Old Town - very convenient and cheap (there were 4 of us). Neven and Antonea were very welcoming hosts, ensuring that we had everything that we needed, and even taking us to the butcher, supermarket and fruit shop one day as we didn't have a car. There are plenty of shops within walking distance though, including a couple of supermarkets. There are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance of the apartment which we made good use of, but we also enjoyed a few BBQs on the lovely terrace, surrounded by the beautiful sculptures of Marijan Kockovic. It was a great location for combining a relaxing beach holiday with a bit of culture in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik.
