Description

Situated a short walk away from the village of Dundrum, this family friendly

house is located in an idyllic setting and provides a perfect place to unwind or explore the many nearby attractions. Murlough Bay, Tullymore, Castlewellan Forest Park and the Murlough Nature reserve are close by. For those seeking more energetic pursuits - the house provides easy access to the Mourne Mountains, a world-renowned golf course and plenty of equestarian and water sport opportunities.

The house sleeps 13 people, one of the bedrooms sleeps 2 people in bunks and 1 in a single bed. A travel cot is also available upon request. The house is ideal for larger groups and has 2 separate sitting areas. One of the sitting areas is upstairs and has breath taking views over the Mourne Mountains and Murlough bay. The other sitting area is around the wood burning stove - perfect for the colder evenings. There is also wi fi, cable TV and a DVD player.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons and there is a separate utility room. A high chair, washing machine make this holiday cottage a real 'home from home'.

The back garden has stunning views of the Mourne Mountains and is fully enclosed making it very safe for children. There is also a patio area with a picnic table that is perfect for evening drinks.

Please note there is a separate, self contained annex that sleeps 2 people. This may or may not be occupied at the time of your stay.

“Clan gathering”

We booked this fantastic home for 11 of our family as a base ready for my daughters wedding to a local Kilkeel lad. Age ranges from 23 to 80…..something and all were more than adequately catered for. The bedrooms, the kitchen(s) and the space! What a find, what a view! (particularly for me who’s an early riser)… the Mournes! Before we got there, the owner Jenny was easy to contact and very quick to respond and nothing was too much trouble. Brilliant! It all added in to a most excellent and very special weekend. 10/10. We do really hope we can arrange a family holiday of this size again as we would really like to return to our holiday home in the Mournes.

“Hidden Gem!”

We had an amazing weekend, the house was perfect, very clean and so well appointed with everything you need. So spacious, excellent for larger groups/families. The views of the Mourns are special from a lovely garden at the back, ideal for BBQ’s. Jenny the host was super helpful and very responsive - just excellent all around. A hidden gem for sure!

“Magical Mourne getaway”

What a wonderful house for a family get together. Plenty of space for our group of three generations, giving the grandparents the room to escape the crazy little ones when they needed! Wood burning stove made it cosy and the kitchen is well equipped. Great garden for the kids and fabulous views from every room.

“Haven from the storm!”

This was my second stay to the Mourne Holiday Home and was equally enjoyable. Our family group was a mixture of generations and the house allowed us to enjoy the company in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.A short car ride offers a great selection of good restaurants and pubs as well as beautiful walks. A storm raged outside for much of our stay but the view once it cleared was spectacular.Will definitely be back!
