Description
Beautiful house perfect for two or three visitors, good for four or should you decide for more. The house is located on a quiet street in the heart of the medina, offering peace and tranqulity. The beach, souks, main square, cafes, restaurants, fish and veg market are only a stroll away. The location is great to enjoy an authentic feel of this wonderful town so rich in history, culture and music amongst other things.
The decoration of the house is simple, both modern and respectful toward the traditional architecture of Essaouira.
On the mezzanine floor, there is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a separate toilet. On the first floor there is a single room with a handcrafted stone washbasin. There is also another double bedroom with en-suite bathroom identical to the one on the mezzanine and a separate lavatory.Both double rooms have an airconditions. The kitchen is allocated on the second floor. It is simply equipped but you should still be able express your culinary creativity.
The living room is located directly opposite the kitchen and it is full of natural light during the day. It is perfect for relaxing next to the fire place, with company and a good glass of wine. Wood for burning can be supplied upon request - just ask Saida the helpful and cheerful maid. There are free wifi, and satellite TV available.
The terrace, which is the best feature of the house benefits from sunshine throughout the day and is equipped with sitting space and a table perfect for alfresco dining under the umbrella. The terrace is well protected from the wind, which is important, Essaouira is renowned for its windy condition. There is an additional kitchenette if you wish to grill fish, prepare salads or breakfast.
You will have full access to everything in the house and please make yourself feel at home.
I will be delighted to respond to requests and will normally do so within a few hours.The house is not suitable for people with mobility problems or families with young children because of the steep stairs.But if you still want to bring your child, you a very welcome, we have baby cot(crib) and we will assist you with pleasure.
The Neighbourhood
The house is located very close to the center of the ancient Medina, on a quiet street away form the touristic traffic. Nearby there is a launderette, and a corner shop for basics.
Getting around
I will not be present at the house during your stay but you will be in the safe hands of Saida who will meet you upon your arrival at the Marrakech city gate (very close to the house), will show you the way and give you your keys. I am able to organise a transfer from the airport should you wish to travel by taxi. The fare from Marrakech Menara Airport to Essaouira is approximately 50/60euro. I use a trusted taxi driver, who is pleasant and reliable. The fare from the airport in Essaouira is approximately 15euro. Please let me know in advance if you wish to book a transfer and I will be happy to organise it for you.
There is no parking included with the house but there are parking facilities available nearby.
Saida the maid is known for her traditional Moroccan culinary skills and will be happy to prepare for you traditional cous cous or tagine of your choice, at 16euro per four persons.
