A short holiday in a lovely place

Left on Jul 21, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Chosen because my wife would like to live in a barn, The Barn exceeded our expecations by a long way. Imaginatively converted and beautifully furnished the accommodation is well above par. The owners made sure that we were comforatable and offered help should we need it. I must mention the single track road that is access from the a481. Not for the faint hearted. Nor is the final track into the…

We'll definitely be recommending Riverside Barn to friends and we'll more than likely be back to visit again in the future. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

wow, what a place

Left on Jan 29, 2014 for a stay in January 2014

If you're looking for a quiet and secluded spot to get away from then look no further. By their own admission the owners, Sue and Dave, are new to B & B and that could be what makes them so keen. Nothing was too much trouble and we were really well looked after. We chose to have breakfast in the house rather than cook ourselves - excellent decision on our part.

Sue has great attention to detail…

Nice location and cosy feel sadly let down by lack of care and maintenance

Left on Dec 27, 2014 for a stay in December 2014

The cottage, although a good size, has a cosy feel but is badly let down by a lack of care and maintenance.

On arrival we were disappointed to find very little by way of crockery in the kitchen cupboards.

Further investigation found the dish washer to have apparently malfunctioned resulting in it being full of the missing and unwashed crockery.

After emptying the dish washer and doing the …

An escape from reality - just what we needed

Left on Sep 01, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We have just spent a week in the straw cottage, a perfect break away.

An escape from the real world. The children loved the freedom to be able to run, build dams, build dens and explore. We had a week of quality family time, playing, exploring and cuddled up in front of the fire for stories.

The boys loved going up to the farm to visit Ash & Mossy (the dogs) and the horses.

What a fantastic cottage this is. We stayed here only 3 nights but could easily have spent 2 weeks here.

I would absolutely recommend this cottage to a couple wanting to get away from it all and recharge their soul and spirits.

For a start the cottage is stunningly beautiful, both inside and out. Perhaps in summer the outside looks better but in winter you certainly look forward to the end …
