Cowes View is a secret made to share.The cottage has amazing panoramic sea views across the Solent. From the terrace and the balcony watch the yachts,cruise liners, Cowes week, tall ships, dinghies, canoes, wind and kite surfers, and many other sea faring vessels sail by.Relax in bed and listen to the waves lap against the shoreline, watch the sun rise and set over the glistening water, stroll along the beach from Cowes View's own access and swim in the sea,

The cottage has WIFI

The cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway, your wedding night, and a family/couple retreat. Cowes View has free view TV and internet access for those of you who like to keep in touch (not for Ipad). There are two double bedrooms,a bathroom, a mezzanine with a sofa bed ideal for children to hide away in the 'crews nest'.Downstairs is a wet room with a toilet and shower. Underfloor heating is throughout the ground floor, the kitchen, dining and lounge look out to The Solent.

Cowes View is ideally located to visit Hampshire a county steeped in History, rolling downs,a varied coastline. Visit Portsmouth with its historic Dockyard, home to The Victory Nelson's flagship and The Mary Rose, The Warrior.Spinnaker Tower at Gun Wharf Quays. The New Forest, Beaulieu National Motor museum, Southampton, Winchester, The South Downs, The Hamble and within walking distance The Titchfield National Nature Reserve.

Getting around

The local train station is Fareham, trains go to Brighton, London, Cardiff, then 10 miles away there is Southampton Parkway which has direct trains going North and Portsmouth Harbour with similar links to Fareham. The local buses run outside the cottage and go to Fareham, Stubbiington village has more buses, a mile away to Southampton, Gosport,and Portsmouth. Southampton airport is 10 miles away.

Interaction with guest

I live a few minutes down the road, I let my guests arrive and explore and discover things for themselves but if needed I am a 'phone call away and be at the cottage in a few minutes if necessary.I will call in during the guests stay just to check all is OK.

Response from the owner Sadly I would not welcome this couple back to the cottage. I have been in the holiday letting business for 18 years and know what is clean and what is dirty when guests leave. I could go on about the condition the cottage was left in , but really it is not important as it is my word against the guests. I do not want guests like these if they treat someone else's property in the way they did. Sadly there are always some people in this world feel the right they can behave this way and get away with it! Please, if you have no respect for other peoples property then you would not be welcome in either of my cottages. Please check out the other reviews!

“Gorgeous seaside retreat”

This cute cottage has been thoughtfully designed inside and being so close to the seafront makes it ideal for walking. Close to good pubs, coffee shops, village shops, takeaway shops. Inside the cottage the amenities are well provided.

“Fab Christmas 2019”

What an entrance to go in and see all the Christmas decorations all up and then the view of the Solent! We had 10 of us for Christmas dinner which was lovely especially the weather. We loved staying here and hopefully we will do it again. We all loved having easy access to the beach were we had lovely long walks. We did visit the Osbourne View and had a lovely meal. The cottage was lovely and warm.

Response from the owner Sorry I had to cancel, it was a roller coaster of unfortunate circumstances however I found alternative accommodation for these guests.Sometimes things happen out of our control and we have to work through them, fortunately I was able to found somewhere else and all was ok.

“Nice but with major reservations”

The Upside - 1. Spectacular views of The Solent. You could sit and look all day. 2. Comfortable interior including seating and beds. 3. Kitchen well equipped. The Downside - 1. Cottage was not clean; cobwebs hung from staircase, dust on ledges in kitchen 2. Downstairs shower room is small and dark; shower leaked over entire floor, under door and soaked mat in kitchen. 3. No feeding bowls for dogs in this dog-friendly cottage 4. No sun umbrella. Weather was hot and we sweltered outside or had to sit indoors 5. Most inconvenient of all - we had no wif-fi all week. This had a significant effect on my ebay business. Whilst this was not the owners' fault they have not acknowledged that we paid for this service and that it was not delivered. I have sent several emails requesting a refund of just £25 (Which we ourselves had given to visitors last March in a holiday cottage owned by us and in a similar situation). There has been no response to any of my emails. 6. There were three of us in the cottage and each of us was, in general, disappointed.

Response from the owner Really sad that Pat feels the necessity to find small things to moan about because she feels disgruntled about the WIFI. I have responded to every email she has sent , offered £25 as the good will gesture and asked her to become a respectful dog owner by not leaving dog poo in the cottage garden and our neighbours garden and probably on the beach and pavement too. Sorry the weather was too hot, a few cobwebs which can develop overnight, a little bit of dust,the shower room wasn’t large enough, the water didn’t drain quickly and the WIFI went down , we reported it immediately, it took 2 days for an engineer, they then said it was internal so we had to wait for another engineer to arrive on the Friday Pat was leaving, due to her dog being aggressive towards the engineer, She had to hold it for an hour so we gave her an hour extra for her departure time. So sorry we didn’t come up to your standards.
