Located in a quiet cobbled lane, lined with the famous Ile de Re hollyhocks, this adorable studio is right in the heart of La Flotte village., designated as one of "the most beautiful villages" in France. You are literally just one minutes walk from the sea; the harbour with its lively restaurants and cafe; and the daily food market held in the medieval market square. During summer evenings you are seconds from the delightful night market.

This charming 34 sq metre studio is very light and sunny, and decorated in a comfortable, contemporary style in pastel, neutral colours, combining a stunning mix of vintage and modern furniture. Fully equipped for 4 guests, this studio is perfect for a couple, or a young family, and offers an idyllic location for your Ile de Re holiday. Your bed linen and towels are included in the price.

Getting around

There are regular buses from the island to La Rochelle train station. During the summer season there are also some buses that stop at the airport. On the island you can easily get from village to village by bus. And there are free minibuses from the major bus stops direct into each village centre. Many village centres are "pedestrianised" during the summer season. It is very popular to cycle around the island, as it is very flat. There are many, many cycle rental shops. That are very good. And it's the best way to see the island.

Hi I'm Sue, and own the studio. I live in London, and deal with all the pre-booking stuff. I have the most amazing housekeeper, Anne-Marie, who lives on the island. And she will liaise with you re arrival times. And will try to be there to meet you with keys.

Response from the owner Just to confirm - because of Covid it was very difficult to manage the property as effectively as usual. Hence the comments here. After Covid restrictions, there is a brand new bed; new bedlinen; kitchen equipment has been replaced; and other maintenance work in the kitchen and shower room has been done. Therefore all negative issues have been resolved.

“Just what we needed”

What a lovely,peaceful studio. So bright and well equipped. Sue the owner was very helpful.Very spacious. The location was excellent. We were yards from Boulangerie for fresh croissants in the morning. There was a lovely medieval market just yards away,open every morning. The road we were in was very quiet away from the hustle and bustle. There are plenty of restaurants in La Flotte and lovely walks to the Abbey and Fort. There is also a Carrefour nearby. Also the beach is ideal and safe. Everywhere is very flat for easy cycling and walking. In the studio there is no tv or music which for people like us who wanted to just chill and get away from it all was ideal. We travelled there by train from Ebbsfleet to La Rochelle and then got the bus which was a very relaxing way to travel. I would thoroughly recommend the studio and La Flotte.
