“Peaceful Retreat”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2023

The cottage was as described with lots of olde world charm and wonderful views over the valley. The parking situation was a bit precarious with only 2 on-road slots available, neither of which were designated to the cottage. Having said that, one slot remained vacant and available for our use throughout our 3 day stay. The cottage met our needs for a peaceful retreat in the country.

“Pretty”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2023

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage especially as it was very chilly when we arrived and we could light the log fire. It had all the facilities as advertised. Sunday night was beautifully clear for us to look at the stars. No light pollution there.

“Sweet old cottage in charming, apparently remote, hamlet, in reality close to Ilkley”

Reviewed 25 Feb 2022

Lovely cottage, very well equipped with all necessities. And a very kind owner who offered lots of help when we were snowed and rained in during storms Dudley and Eunice. Beautiful rural location with good walks from the door but towns and other attractions (The Strid especially wonderful) not far away by car.

“Charming, cosy and comfortable cottage with great views”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2021

We were so pleased when we turned up at Rose Cottage. It was so charming, warm and cosy, with many original features. It was very well equipped and warm - plus a great shower, comfortable bed and good heating. The area was pretty and close to Ilkley, where we did our shopping. Also easy access to the Yorkshire Dales, seeing as it was based on the edge of the dales. The weather was reasonable, but tv was there for lazy evenings. Altogether a relaxing and comfortable stay. Thank you Jane.

“Rose cottage”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2021

Rose cottage was really comfortable and clean and a good double shower and a comfy king size bed. Outside there was a patio area with amazing views. The property itself is up a steep single track road with a parking bay opposite the cottage. To walk into Ilkley takes about 40 minutes but be aware the on the way back the last 800mtrs is uphill. There are some lovely walks along the river which are flat . There is a big park area where the children can play and a very welcoming pub The Riverside Hotel. To finish, overall we enjoyed our stay at the cottage the only thing that disappointed was there was no welcome tray, so make sure you bring milk, warer etc. Also the website needs updating because it states there is a bottle of wine provided but there was not one, but that was of no consequence to us
