Description

Casa Nogal is a tastefully renovated farmhouse set in a tranquil, scenic location amidst its own olive grove ideal for relaxing family holidays, yet well-situated for visiting Granada, Malaga,Ronda, Seville and Cordoba.

Also ideally situated for walking in the Sierra Subbeticas Natural Park, El Torcal de Antequera and El Caminito del Rey; a walkway along the gorge of El Chorro.

The house is 15 mins from Iznajar, a picturesque, traditional Andalucian hilltop town with ancient church and Moorish castle overlooking Lake Iznajar and 15 mins from the A92 motorway with excellent links to Granada & the Alhambra (50 mins), Malaga (50 mins), Ronda (90 mins) Seville (110 mins) and Cordoba and the Mezquita (70 mins).

When not exploring, relax by the private 10 x 5m pool or drink and dine on the vine covered terrace.

The house comprises a well-equipped kitchen/dining room with log burning stove, leading to the sitting room with open fireplace. and good supply of DVDs, books and games. The main bedroom is en-suite with log burning stove with 2 additional twin bedded rooms sharing a bathroom. Each bedroom is equipped with wardrobe, bedside cabinets, free standing electric fans and portable heaters depending on season.

An attractive vine covered terrace with dining table overlooks the large 10 x 5m private walled pool equipped with sun loungers, poolside table and parasol.

Help yourself to figs, grapes, and plums in season.

There is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, a storeroom/logstore and traditional BBQ.

Getting around

Car hire is essential. However if you prefer not to drive into the cities (such as Sevilla, Ronda, Malaga) there is also an excellent train service from the Antequera stations with free parking outside the stations. Train bookings can be made via the Renfe website.

“Casa nogal”

Very rural location beautiful farmhouse in unspoilt surroundings if you want a relaxing break this is perfect but you will need a car. The only traffic is one or two farmers. We found it beautiful and ideal and cool despite roasting temperatures. Input from owners and local representative really helpful and at right level including essential directions.

“Secluded house with superb facilites.”

A well appointed secluded holiday home. The house is comfortable and spacious: the pool is large and was very welcome during the hot July days. If you need a peaceful, restful holiday then this is the place for you. However, Izjanar is only 15 minutes away and definitely worth a visit. Granada is 1 hour by car and shouldn't be missed. We ate at Corjito Haza - a superb set menu served in a small but beautiful courtyard. This is a 5 minute drive away from Casa Nogal. We were sad to leave Casa Nogal, having had a fantastic week.

“Idyllic villa in olive groves, with excellent facilities.”

We have been to this villa two years in a row for 3 weeks each time. It is located in stunning olive groves in the real spanish hills. The pool is beautiful, with swallows swooping down by you as you swim and skimming the water for a drink. The villa is very cool being built half into the hill side. The terrace is lovely too, with dappled shade provided by vines laden down with grapes. The service is excellent. The owners representative leaves essentials (more than just bread and milk, enough for a few meals) for you when you arrive, so no need to panic about provisions if you arrive on a late flight. Also in the event of problems (help to change a gas cylinder), they arrive within an hour or so. Superbly located for tourism: 40mins to Granada, about 1hr to Malaga, and 1hr 30 for Cordoba. We have had super holidays and will return.

A great house to stay in, full of rustic charm with an excellent swimming pool, away from the hurly burly, but, within striking distance of the coast, golf courses, Granada and Ronda. Superb local restaurants catering for all budgets and tastes, stunning local scenery and the best golden figs ever tasted. Off the beaten track but easy to find due to the very precise instructions from the ariport to the drive. We loved it...

“If you want an idilic situation, away from everything to relax and refresh - this is the place for you”

The property is miles from anywhere but if you are looking to escape from the rat race this is the place. You will need a car - just to get provisions and also to visit some of the local restaurants and attractions in the area. This is a peaceful holiday in wonderful surroundings, definitely not a resort holiday but the property is beautiful, comfortable and has all mod-cons - you can take all those DVDs you've not got around to watching if you want!
