Comfortable family farmhouse Gite rental

Our Brittany Gite is a converted 100+ year old typical French farmhouse, constructed from stone and slate, that we've carefully renovated to become a relaxing, comfortable and tranquil vacation rental that will be exclusively for your use for your stay with us.

The farmhouse oozes original property features such as a massive oak beamed ceiling, wood burning open log fire, and traditional tiled floors. We've also added family 'home from home' touches with Sky satellite TV, DVD, video and board-games in the lounge, full central heating and a fitted kitchen with microwave, double oven, halogen hob and even children's plates and cutlery for the little ...Read more

Additional Location Information

Situated in the North Western corner of France, Brittany has Celtic roots and shares a wild rich cultural heritage with Cornwall and parts of Wales. Not far from the Gite is the forest of Broceliande where Arthur and the Knights of the round table were said to live, and many road signs are bi-lingual in both Breton and French.

This is a lovely part of France to holiday in at any time of the year, its's always a few degrees warmer than the UK (we regularly dine outside for lunch, even at Easter), and the roads and the whole pace of life are just so much more laid back and tranquil than home. A perfect getaway !

Nearby the town of Josselin has a rich medieval history, the cobbled town centre descends down towards the 12th Century Chateau that towers over the Nantes/Brest Canal and was the scene of many a bloody battle in years gone by.

Nowadays there's a lively Saturday market, canoeing on the river, horse riding in nearby Loudeac woods, chilling out or sailing on the largest natural lake in Brittany that's just 20 minutes from the Gite, and in fact there's so much to see and do that it's impossible to describe it all!

One of our favourites though does have to be the Creperie in La Cheze, scrummy pancakes and local Breton cider !!
