lawaaimaker (Dutch); Cossyphe du Cap (French); Kaprötel (German); Cossifa do Cabo (Portuguese). JANFREDERIK is the Afrikaans name for a pretty little bird that often, and always in pairs, a female and a male, can be seen in our garden. This bird is native to Southern Africa.

 

The l'Agulhas coastline is known worldwide as the most southern point of

Africa. JANFREDERIK (Afrikaans name for Cape Robin) is a tasteful self catering unit on the ground floor level of the owner's property in the town of l'Agulhas. This unit is ideal for a family or group who wants to break

away from the city rush and migrate to the most southern village of Africa..

The l'Agulhas historical lighthouse, visible from here, is only a 3 minute walk away and about 200m as the crow, or JANFREDERIK, flies. At the lighthouse, you can get onto the l'Agulhas National Park boardwalk which takes you to the formal separation between the Atlantic- and Indian Ocean!... the southernmost tip of Africa! Just a little further you can late afternoon watch the sun disappear behind a beached shipwreck. Tidal pools and the historical Khoisan fishtraps are also walking distance. Other l'Agulhas and surrounds tourist attractions include The Elim Wine Route, the Spookdraai hiking trail, etc.

This unit provides accommodation for 8 and consists of 3 bedrooms, 2

bathrooms with both a shower each, a kitchenette/living room, a covered

porch, an outdoor BBQ braaipit entertainment area and a private garden with seating areas. The master bedroom has a double bed with an ensuite

bathroom, the second bedroom sleeps 3 people (3 single beds) and the third bedroom has 3 single beds. The kitchenette is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave oven, double plate stove with oven, kettle, etc. A convenience grocery store and a laundry is a 3 minute walk from our accommodation unit.

Parking is available on the premises. There are no fences or gates from the

parking to the entrance to the unit. PLEASE NOTE the unit is not wheelchair accessible and there are 15 steps from the parking area to the entrance to the dwelling.

No pets are allowed and smoking in the unit is prohibited. During Easter, the minimum stay is 3 nights. Between December 1 and January 3, the minimum stay is 7 nights.

PLEASE NOTE that a refundable breakage fee of £58,is payable prior to check-in.

GETTING ARROUND Parking is available on the premises. There are no fences or gates from the parking to the entrance to the unit. PLEASE NOTE the unit is not wheelchair accessible and there are 15 steps from the parking area to the entrance to the dwelling.

Interaction with guest

JANFREDERIK is the owner's holiday retreat. The owner occupies the top level for not more than 4 weeks a year and is therefor very seldom present or available. Guests will have full privacy. The manager of this unit is during the daytime available on his cellphone, for recommendations, assistance and support.

How do damage deposits work?
