Description

Fantastic, spacious 4 bedroom apartment for a large family or a group of friends where everyone gets a proper bed. Awarded 3 stars by the French tourist authorities. This apartment has 2 floors, a large balcony with great panoramic views of the Aravis Mountains and the village below, a lounge, a dining area for 8, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a heated cupboard for storing boots and ski wear, a ski locker and free WiFi.

The apartment is in a traditional alpine style chalet building and is only 1000 metres from the cable car and 1200 metres from the picturesque traditional French Alpine village of Le Grand Bornand. The ski bus stops immediately outside the apartment and takes only minutes to get to the cable car. Alternatively, there is plenty of parking in the village if you want to use your own vehicle. It is located only 1 hour from Geneva airport.

During the winter Le Grand Bornand is a great centre for downhill skiing and snow boarding with 90 KM of downhill pistes and over 40 runs. For cross country skiers there is an additional 60 KM of ski runs. There is also the option to travel 6km by car or ski bus to ski at La Clusaz which offers a further 128 KM of downhill pistes and 72 runs. There is also an ice skating rink close to the Le Grand Bornand Village centre.

In the summer Le Grand Bornand is great for mountain walks, cycling and paragliding and also paddling and swimming in the outdoor village pools, village stream or nearby lakes. There is even a golf course in the mountain

The living area is spacious and comfortable, with seating for up to 8 people and is equipped with satellite TV with access to all major UK and French channels and with DVD player. There is a dining area with a table for six that extends so that 8 people can dine comfortably.The modern newly fitted kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, 2 fridges with a freezer compartment and cool box and dishwasher.As well as a ski locker located in the basement, there is also a heated cupboard located in the apartment for storing your boots and ski wear.

The balcony is equipped with a table and seating and is a great area to sit and relax and admire the views after a hard day on the slopes, Deck chairs are also available for those that want to soak up the sun during the day.The bedrooms comprise of:1st bedroom: double room on ground floor 2nd bedroom: twin bedded room on ground floor 3rd bedroom: double room on 1st floor 4th bedroom: twin bedded room located on a 1st floor mezzanine On the ground floor there is a bathroom which has a bath with shower and separate WC and on the 1st floor there is a shower room with WC. There is also free private parking

In the summer, the apartment is a great base for mountain hiking, biking, paragliding, archery, tennis, trampolineing in the village and water sports in nearby Annecy Lake.

Getting around

The ski bus stops outside the apartment building. The bus is every 20 minutes and takes 10 minutes to the cable cars. The return journey is only 5 minutes. You may also reach the village by bus. There is also free parking available near that cable cars and in the village

“Perfect”

Had a great week in this lovely cosy chalet, it was so well equipped. Ski bus stop just outside, the town is just a short 15 minute walk away. Stunning views from chalet. Owner very approachable, would definitely go back again.

“Another great skiing holiday”

Friends and I came for the 2nd time to Le Grand Bornand and staid again in the Challis apartment in Perce Neige. Great to see that the owner had updated the kitchen area and bathrooms and although they were okay before the update definitely improved the look and feel of the apartment. Skiing was still good, all slopes and most lifts were open, despite the restricted snowfall in most skiing areas this year so far. The fact that you jump on the ski-bus just outside the apartment and arrive at the gondola within 10 mins is great. We even left our skies in a locker near the gondola which makes the getting on and off the bus a lot easier. Looking forward to book next year again.
