To the immediate north are miles of New Forest that encompasses beautiful open heathland and enclosed woodland, offering unspoilt horse riding and walking. Iron Age hill fort site within a two-minute walk.

Secluded location, but there are two food stores nearby - 'Co-operative food' (post code SO41 8XN, 3-minute drive or 10 minute walk through the forest) and Waitrose Lymington (post code SO41 9GF, 5-minute drive.)

More ideas on things to do and see in the area:

Horse riding in Brockenhurst;

Beaulieu motor museum;

Buckler’s Hard;

Popular Sunday car-boot sale near us called Strawberry Fields;

Longdown Activity farm, popular with children;

Nice old towns of Christchurch and Lyndhurst. Lyndhurst has a great New Forest tourist information centre with brochures on more things to do, walking and cycling trails, etc.

We can highly recommend the 'Monkey House' restaurant/pub that is a 2-minute drive towards Lymington. The beautiful and upscale ‘The Pig’ restaurant in Brockenhurst is great for family celebrations and is 20 minutes away.

From Lymington short ferry ride to Isle of Wight with beautiful nature walks.

The Lymington Town train station is a 10-minute taxi ride or a 30-minute walk (1.3 miles) from the house with a rail connection to London Waterloo. Alternatively, the forest village of Brockenhurst is 4 miles away with a direct rail connection to London Waterloo.

A working 1000-year old church in Boldre within a 10-minute drive.

We allow pets, but charge a sanitation fee of £25 per pet per night in addition to the booking. They need monitoring to ensure they do not run into the forest or on the road.

“Spacious house and garden close to the coast and to the New Forest.”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2021

Located on the edge of the New Forest with easy access to the coast. The house provided good accommodation for the 3 families in our group, which included 4 children under the age of10. The large garden was excellent, well-equipped for outside activities, both for adults and children. Our Host was very helpful at all times and kept me well informed. However I found communications with Holiday Lettings/ Trip advisor unhelpful and sometimes misleading.

“Super house with loads of room and fantastic garden”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2019

We stayed here to celebrate two birthdays and visit relatives in Lymington. We were 6 adults and three kids from 7 to 21 months. The house was perfect for all of us being big enough for a bit of privacy when required!! The kids loved the garden and the large number of toys. Our 7 year old went straight to the trampoline when she arrived and absolutely adored the swing on the tree. The boys found the toys irresistible and the big kids had fun with the football net! The house is well equipped with a lovely big kitchen and conservatory. Water was a bit eccentric but we got used to its vagaries and it caused no problems. The weather was glorious and the New Forest as lovely as ever. I only have one suggestion, with very small children it would have been good to have a gate and fence between the back and front. Our toddler is exceedingly fast on his feet and inquisitive and we had to keep a close eye on him in the garden in case he found his way to the road!

“Fantastic Family Property”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2018

In all ways outstanding holiday accommodation to please all ages. Spacious indoors, secluded extensive garden. Two year old Granddaughter just fell in love with the trampoline Her older Father, Uncle and this writer, her Grandfather, enjoyed the ( outdoor) table tennis equipment, proper table, bats and balls...the goalposts , particularly in World Cup week, allowed all to demonstrate their " scoring" abilities! And enough space to allow proper tennis volleying. The decking area in the bright June afternoons a delight n which to relax, sunbathe, take drinks, eat . The garden , quite " wild" in places , around the property added a quirkiness and a natural appearance and its parking more than sufficient for all booked guests. Indoors a large ground floor hall leading to first bathroom (bath and shower) the three well furnished bedrooms, and also to the particularly spacious lounge, ( overlooking the front drive) with comfy chairs, large Freeview TV, internet router and to the L shaped kitchen / diner (overlooking the rear garden) with all amenities and second large Freeview TV set... Off the kitchen is a utility room , the second bathroom( with shower) and thereafter two more ground floor bedrooms. Upstairs is the " master bedroom" and a third bathroom ( with shower) Many toys and and games for children were found , and reading material for all ages. Maybe just beware of the entrance/ exit to the property as the name suggests " Cornerways", just around a bend, but for a wonderful time and in great weather, which we fortunately enjoyed , book " Cornerways"... You too will love it .
