Description

Top floor suite! Beautifully furnished condo overlooking the aqua-blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico! This 1,700 sq. ft. , custom decorated condominium offers a unique water vista from the living areas. The split floor plan provides privacy as the bedrooms are on each side of the living/dining area. There is a fully furnished kitchen for preparing meals. The 3-bedroom unit includes a king-size bed, private bathroom and walk-in closet in the master bedroom, a king-size bed in the second bedroom and twin beds in the third bedroom. The two smaller bedrooms share a separate bathroom.

Relax and enjoy a cool drink on the wrap-around screened terrace overlooking the adjacent resort, lighthouse and marina! Arrange fishing charters for deep sea fishing off nearby Seven Mile Bridge or arrange snorkel excursion to visit nearby Sombrero Reef. Exercisers may rent bicycles from a nearby vendor or walk one mile to Old Seven Mile Bridge to stroll the bridge to exercise and see abundant marine wildlife. At the end of the two-mile bridge is Pigeon Key, noted as the staging area for the construction of the Flagler overseas railroad connecting Key West with Miami. There is a small museum, dock and weather station available for visitors.

At 1,700 sq. ft. his unit is one of the most spacious available for rent in the Florida Keys.....with an awesome water view. It is appealing to non-smokers as we ask that smoking be limited to the terrace only. Further, one sheltered parking space is conveniently available for renters use. Additional parking spaces are adjacent on site.

World famous Key West is an hour's drive away, On the way you may be able to see the unique and protected Key Deer noted for their small size and abundance on Big Pine Key. While in Key West plan to see the many museums including the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum, Key West Shipwreck Museum, Florida Keys Natural History Museum, Turtle Kraal Museum, Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, Key West Lighthouse and Keeper's Quarters. In addition, other attractions include Harry Truman's Little White House, Ft. Zachary Taylor Historical State Park, Audubon House and Tropical Garden, Key West Art and Historical Society, Key West Aquarium, Key West Butterfly and Natural Conservatory, Dry Tortugas National Park, Vandenberg Wreck, Key West Wildlife Center and the southernmost point in the United States.

Of course, a major appeal while in Key West is doing the "Duval Crawl" down along Duval Street for shopping and eating delights. Also, the Historic Seaport is not to be missed for good eating, entertainment and boating excursions (i.e. sunset cruises, Dry Tortugas, parasailing, deep sea fishing, etc.)

Going the other direction from the condo complex there are several attractions for visitors to consider in Marathon. The allures include a visit to Sombrero Beach for a nice beach experience, snorkeling off Sombrero Reef (by boat), shopping, Wild Bird Refuge Center, Crane Park, Turtle Rehabilitation Center and Museum (walkable from the condo). Outside of Marathon but nearby include the Dolphin Research Center (highly recommended), Curry Hammock State Park (small but interesting tropical preserve) and Duck Key.

Marina Use: Daily and monthly boat dockage is available. Separate arrangements for a slip and trailer parking can be made through the abutting resort. Trailer parking is free. However, boat launching is not available on site but nearby.

Response from the owner The listing clearly notes that the resort (adjacent and separate from the condominiums) was projected to be renovated. It was impossible to know when construction would commence and what kind of construction would be happening at any given time. A discounted rate applies for any stay because of the construction activity at the resort and abutting property. As the condo unit owner, I have no control over the municipal code regarding construction allowances or the construction timing or intensity. Further, I do not promote the resort as an amenity for boaters or visitors because of previous storm damage. The water views are unobstructed and the interior description is as advertised. Like most any building project there are differing types of construction noises and levels of noise during each phase of the project.
