Description

The house has no visible neighbours, and is surrounded by 4 acres of gardens and an apple orchard, within the bend of a river. We are used to receiving people in our home, as it is a centre for groups who come to do workshops or conferences here.With Solar water heating, and geothermic central heating in winter, this "eco-gite" is situated about 1 hour from the Atlantic and 1 hour from the Loire river with its famous chateaux. The strikingly different old/modern cities of Nantes, Rennes, Angers and Laval are all within an hour's drive. There are numerous walks and attractions in the area, such as the old town & castle at Vitré, the Mediaeval and Renaissance Chateau at Chateabriant, the sublime Mont Saint Michel, and - as France is one of the most visited countries in the world - there are numerous things for tourists to do and to see. There is a swimming lake just 5 mins drive away, at Martigné-Ferchaud and other swimming lakes nearby. A lovely pond sits on the property, with fish, frogs and dragonflies abounding. There are singing toads that live in the old walls, and many varieties of birds and other wildlife that pass through this beautiful and peaceful spot.
