Description

AMANI HOUSE offers complete relaxation in a natural environment surrounded by trees and with stunning views of Mtwapa creek and its beautiful sunsets. The house is built in an open coastal Swahili style with a large sitting, dining area opening out onto the verandah. Here you can just relax or go for long walks along the mangrove forest.

Each of the 2 bedrooms is self contained with an independent terrace. Beds have mosquito nettings.

Our apartment is for self catering only and the nearest local shop is about 500m away. The next supermarket is around 5km away. It is therefore best to do your shopping before you come here, as you won't want to go back into city life once you are in this serene environment.

We also have two dogs which are generally enjoying visitors' company.

Getting around

Public transport (buses and matatus) is available in Mtwapa town. You however need private means to get to Amani house. UBER cars are available and you can rent cars or go by motorbike taxis. We can connect you with taxis which can drive you for short and long trips on reasonable terms.

Interaction with guest

We rent the ground floor apartment as a unit or separately as two bedrooms. This means that you might have to share the kitchen and living area. But there is plenty of space to ensure privacy for all guests. The owners are living on the first floor, which has a separate entrance, but they are not always available. We have staff living on the compound who can give any advice and assistance when needed .

House rules

Amani House is a quiet retreat and we don't expect loud parties. But get togethers at the pool or BBQ sites are welcome.
The ground floor has 2 double bedrooms and the kitchen and outside area will have to be shared

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
