Response from the manager Thank you for these kind comments. La Garenne is indeed magical and it's great that we have wi fi to catch up on your emails and check on opening times of attractions and restaurants but not so powerful for streaming so guests can enjoy the beautiful nature that is all around.

“Bliss- so peaceful,”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2015

we wanted a week away from our busy town of Looe. The cottage, just two hours from Roscoff was everything we needed.Set in the valley with the river Blavet at the bottom of the garden was so peaceful. We had the heated pool to our selves with the cottage beside it. Everything you needed was in it.The cottage was nice and airy with plenty of light, with a bueatiful bedroom upstairs. A French couple looked after the the cottages and were very helpful,it was a great place to retarge the batteries. We hope to go again.. Regards, Adrian and Gail Lean

“The most fantastic place I've ever stayed”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2011

What an amazing location, peace and tranquillity next to the river Blavet - and what stunning properties. Proper chocolate box (or is that boîte à chocolat?) houses well maintained both inside and out (the gardens are beautiful so well cared for and full of beautiful flowers and lizards which thrilled the children!) The pictures on the website show it to be stunning but simply don't do it justice - this location/property combination has to be seen to be believed. As we arrived and drove up by the river the first glimpse literally took my breath away! The bar up the river (Vallee Vert) is a short stroll away for a relaxed lunch (set menu but the owners were very accommodating of our large group and laid on special options for us). There are also plenty of other places to visit within a short drive for varied eating out. Weather permitting (and I was surprised how much better the weather is compared to the UK - although maybe we were just lucky) the barbeques on each property make for the perfect large group dining in the area in the middle of the properties. And as you'd expect in France you can get very good quality produce in markets and super markets so it's lovely for anyone who likes to cook and although eating out is a great option (you must try the local crepes if you get the chance - fantastic!) it's not necessary. The kitchens are very well equipped for this purpose too. We stayed with a very large family group making use of all the properties which was amazing as it meant all the communal areas were shared with people we knew - but the lay out is such that one could be more self-contained than we were if you wished to be. Madame Janine, the guardian of the property couldn't do enough for us and was a source of much useful local advice as well as making our stay all the more pleasurable with little touches like flowers cut from the garden left or the doorstep. She was an absolute gem and genuinely cares that you have an excellent stay. The best bit for the children was of course the pool (and great for the parents too obviously, not least because it meant the children were continuously occupied!) It is large enough for a proper swim but small enough to be easy to keep an eye on the children. And it is also well enclosed with a locked gate so there's no danger of little ones getting in on their own. The gate at the end of the garden is also not easy to open for little ones so again no chance of them wandering off the grounds when playing out (and this is important because this is the perfect location for hide and seek!!) Really an amazing place and I would thoroughly recommend a visit - we'll definitely go back one day if we can.

“Really picturesque cottages, well equipped and comfortable, with the added bonus of beautiful walks by the river.”

We enjoyed our stay at Le Fournil, the cottages are really pretty and set in lovely grounds. Everything was provided and the cottages are well looked after by a local lady on hand most of the time. A good spot to explore from.
