Description
Villa Soumela is located on the beautiful island of Lefkada, Greece. The villa is built above the village of Nikiana on a mountain slope. It has breathtaking Ionian ocean views. It features a private garage, a private swimming pool, a pool deck and a large surrounding yard area. It is the perfect place for families and friends to retreat, relax and recharge.
The villa comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests. The 3-story villa is 200 square meters and the whole property area is ~ 1000 square meters. There are no other homes nearby except its sister villa - Villa Stathis which is totally detached and includes its own pool and outdoor areas.
The road in front of the villa is enlarged making it is easy for guests to access the remote controlled private garage. There is an orchard across the road with a pergola from which guests may enjoy a spectacular view of the ocean. There are scenic hiking trails for guests to enjoy at the top of the mountain.
The beaches around Lefkada Island are among the most crystal clear beaches in the world. A beautiful local beach is a short walk down the mountain (1km). Nikiana beach is 2km away. It is a great beach for families with little children since it has clear and calm shallow water. Other world-famous beaches such as Porto Katsiki, Engremni and Kathisma make a nice day trip by car.
Villa Soumela is situated between the towns of Lefkada and Nydri which makes it convenient for sightseeing, wining, dining, watersports, nightlife and much more. The proximity of our villa to these attractions gives our guests easy access to town life as well as a totally private, peaceful and comfortable place to stay.
Our stylish and modern villa offers our guests a luxury experience. All of the materials used for pavement are marble or premium quality tiles; the windows and the doors are of top German quality. The spacious outdoor terrace next to the master bedroom provides not only another area to sit and relax, but also a panoramic view of the sea. The large glass doors in the living room and the master bedroom allow our guests to watch the sunrise from inside the house. The views from inside and from outside the house are magnificent.
The private swimming pool is 8m*4m. It is a perfect place for cooling off, for swimming and for simply splashing around. There is an outdoor shower next to the pool. There are lounge chairs and an umbrella around the large pool deck area.
Our villa is well stocked with kitchen utensils, pots and pans. The American style refrigerator provides fresh filtered water and a constant supply of ice. The villa is fully air-conditioned with a remote controlled air conditioning unit in each room except the basement which remains fresh throughout the year. Wi-Fi is available in the villa. In the cinema room downstairs there is a 55 inch flat-screen TV and a comfortable couch that accommodates up to 6 guests. A washing machine, a dryer and a freezer are available in the large laundry room.

Response from the owner villa Soumela and villa Stathis are identical structures. villa Stathis is of higher value due to superior view etc, so an upgrade which creates appreciation as it has been the case with all of our other guests, and this can be seen from all the other reviews we have received. so, our mistake was to believe that, like all of our past guests who had received this upgrade, they would also consider themselves lucky we had sent specific instructions as well as google coordinates and they arrived at the villa without any issues, even though the villa is in a somehow remote location. there is no service in the villas and this is clearly written on our website unless specifically requested. as far as the keys pick up and returning them, they did not follow our instructions, and on their way out very early in the morning, they left the key in the villa and departed without being properly checked out. we usually get compliments for our hospitality and treatment of our guests, so this comes as an unexpected surprise however we remain grateful that they chose our villa, we are glad they had an excellent time, and that they would recommend it to their best friend even though they gave us a very poor rating

“Wunderschöner Urlaub mit traumhaften Blick”
Unser Urlaub in Villa Soumela wird uns (2 Erw + 2 Kinder) aus mehreren Gründen unvergesslich bleiben: der phantastische Ausblick auf das Meer und den Sonnenaufgang, die geschmackvoll und komfortabel eingerichteten Zimmer und die grossen Terrassen. Aussergewöhnlich: wir hatten eine eigene Tiefgarage für unser Auto mit direktem Zugang zum Haus und, bei der kühlen Witterung im April vorallem nachts sehr willkommen, Zentralheizung in jedem Zimmer! Auch den Kaminofen im Wohnzimmer haben wir mit dem vor Ort vorhandenen Olivenbaumholz abends mal angeworfen. Sowohl das Haus als auch die wunderschöne Insel mit ihren freundlichen Bewohnern haben es uns angetan, wir kommen bestimmt wieder!
