Welcome to the Hawaiian Hibiscus Home in Poipu where all high quality furniture and appliances are for you to enjoy. Hawaiian Hibiscus Home is a custom built multi level home in the peaceful Robert Trent Jones II designed Kiahuna Golf Village. The thoughtful design of this large house, 4000 sq ft inside and 2000 sq ft lanais, provides multiple living areas for accommodating a large family or several families in privacy. Several features have been added, remodel.

Response from the owner When this review was published in 2011. Flip Key did not allow responses from home owners at that time. Now we are happy that we can respond to this mostly wrong review. Before this review our home always received 5 stars and after this review it has been receiving 5 stars for the past six years from others in well-regarded vacation sites. Obviously, no home owner wants a terrible review but we did not want to give in to black-mail. It is also instructive to observe that this guest (“Oligarchy Nevada” when they are actually from Chicago, Illinois) gives mostly negative reviews to places they have stayed in and title them as “Stay out”, “Think twice before staying here”, “Nothing special” to catch reader attention. We apologized for some problems at home regarding the key, light down stairs, WiFi and number of dishtowels. The rest are all made-up. 1) KEY: “a front door lock falling out of the door and a rotten front step”. In fact, the problem key was the main key that was stored in the lockbox. It was new and a bit hard to twist to open the main door but it was working. We removed this key and replaced it with a better working key. Inside the house, there are 3 additional well working keys to use by the guests. only the first time the guest needed to use this main key in the lockbox to access the house. Later they can always use the key supply from inside the home. “front door lock falling out of the door”, this is totally untrue, the lock was properly bolted onto the door and has never been removed up to now. No home owner would be irresponsible enough to leave the main door locks hanging loose. The front step definitely was not rotten. 2) Broken pool filter- Our pool has a Jandy cartridge filter in a plastic housing and so it can’t be broken, at best its filtration may be subpar. Skimmer is provided so guests can remove leaves that are wind blown into the pool. We also provide a pool robot for the guests to use for cleaning the pool. 3) Lights downstairs not working: each bedroom down stairs has at least 3 different lights- main light, light from the fan and night stand lights; each hallway has at least two different lights as a result even if one bulb is burned there is minimal impact. Yes, a light bulb was replaced. 4) Left over packaged food -Our cleaning crew always removes open packages of food and leaves unopened and unexpired packages for the future guests. We supply salt, pepper, several herbs, sugar, seasoning salt, food warp, aluminum foil. Most guests appreciate when these items are available. Some unopened and unexpired packages were left for this guest (such as instant noodles). It is a personal choice whether or not our guests decide to use them or purchase new items for themselves. 5) Dishtowels: We agree that 2 of them are not enough. We now make sure there are at least 6 of them. 6) Bath towels: We count how many people in the group and supply 2 set of bath towels for each person each. Extra towels were stored in the cabinets/shelves next to the bathrooms which this guest found out later and she mentioned in the email sent to us but went ahead and put a negative review anyway. We provide plenty of beach towels too. We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry detergent, softener, dishwasher detergent, toilet papers more than enough to last throughout a week stay. 7) Inside and outside needs sprucing up: at the time of this review spring 2011, all of the furniture in the home was only 2 years old. 8) Televisions and WiFi did not work- Our house has 6 flat screen televisions and each one is on a different cable box. They are working fine. WiFi router and the living room TV were on the same box and there is a laminated instruction sheet on how to get the WiFi working in case it needed to be reset. Our home manager called to help with the resetting the WiFi password and instruct on how to use the surround sound for TV. Switching between Cable HDTV or DVD with surround sound, the TV input need to be changed and sometimes it is a bit hard for guest to figure out. We apologized for the lag in response by the home manager. Even though, we provided contact phone numbers and emails of home owner and home manager to our guests, we never heard from this guest not a single phone call or a single text. If they had contacted us we would have gotten maintenance people to help out in a quick manner. In 2013, we hired a new manager who can respond to any problem/request much faster. The rental cost charged to this group was $55.7/person/night for a 6000 sq ft fully furnished home with 5BR,4.5BA, private pool and hot tub. The home is in the middle of Kiahuna golf course, and is only 1.3 miles to Poipu Beach. Hotels in this area cost much higher. We feel that we offer a reasonable rental price and high quality amenities for our guests. We continuously improve our home for our guests based on their suggestions. There are several totally wrong items in this review. Still, we take these complains seriously and work very hard to make sure that our future guests will have a great time while staying in our homes.
