CONVENIENCE
Hit the beach without having to drive. Walk out the door past 2 homes to the ocean then along the coast past 3 more to reach the first of a string of beaches.
You’ll find fabulous snorkeling, body boarding, beautiful coastal walks, whale watching and restaurants in the immediate area. Take a surfing lesson, snorkel in the clear cool waters or simply relax on the beach. In the evenings, walk over to visit the turtles emerging from the ocean to rest for the night on Poipu Beach. Then check out the nearby restaurants or bar-be-que on the lanai and enjoy a meal at home while enjoying the ocean and sunset views.
TRAVEL LIGHT
Our home comes complete with about everything needed for a fun vacation. In addition to the list above, we provide beach toys, a beach wagon, drip coffee makers, coffee grinder, games, laundry detergent and lots more. And for families you'll find a baby gate for the stairs, high chair and pak-n-play at the house.
COMFORT and EFFICIENCY
I designed Aikane to harness the cooling trade winds with good cross ventilation in all rooms. For added comfort, we have quiet, ductless split-system air conditioners in each bedroom and living area. Covered parking at your front door is especially welcome on a warm Hawaiian day as anyone wearing shorts here will attest :)
Hot water and electricity are provided by the abundant Poipu sunshine with automatic, seamless backup when needed. We also provide filtered water so no need to purchase bottled water.
HOUSE CONFIGURATION
The kitchen, living room and dining area are on the upper floor with a full suite on first floor. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with double walk-in shower. Bedrooms 2 and 3 can each be set for either 2 twin beds or convert to king. For king size, we secure the twins together with a special heavy horizontal strap and lambs wool center piece covered with a king size topper and quality bedding. We’ll have everything set to your preference before arrival.
WHY CHOOSE POIPU
1. The south shore is usually drier than reports from the weather station located on the east shore.
2. We normally have year-round swimming.
3. Poipu is centrally located at about equal distance between the north shore and the spectacular vistas and trails in Waimea Canyon and Kokee State Park in the opposite direction.

Theresa and I are the owners/managers and full-time residents with deep roots on Kauai.
