Do you want a retreat away from it all. Or a comfortable base from which to explore or to play golf. Flora Cottage is in the secluded Millin Bay surrounded by rural activities. Plenty of wildlife, walking in drumlins, cycling, archeology, riding,painting. It is an ideal place to explore from - Strangford Lough, Downpatrick or further afield to Belfast,the Antrim coast or even Dublin.
Flora is highly equipped and we can arrange laundry, catering or buy in your groceries to await your arrival. There is a taxi service that can take you to Portaferry, three miles away, for dinner or live music in a local pub. Or you can curl up by the open fire and relax with a glass of wine and a good book. The choice is yours. Enjoy.

“Total relaxation!”
Had a great week staying at Flora Cottage. The location is just fantastic, so private and secluded with ever changing views out the numerous windows of the cottage. The weather was mostly fine during our stay, we were able to go sea swimming and even launched our kayak from the cottage and went for a paddle on one of the calmer days! It was lovely just relaxing and watching the tide come and go. We brought binoculars (a must!) and watched the birds. We particularly loved all the Herons! Each evenings we watched the Swallows come out to feed and we were even greeted by a Hare who practically came right up to the decking - amazing! Our last evening treated us to a specular sunset, pictures attached, which really topped off our chilled break. Cottage is a great base to explore surrounding areas, we spent an afternoon at Castle Ward and another day was spent watching the seals on the rocks. Thank you for a great visit, will surely recommend!

“A peaceful, wonderful retreat”
We had a relaxing time at Flora Cottage. We went walking, swimming and watched the stars in an unpolluted sky. Sitting reading in front of the fire, sipping wine and looking out at the sea. What could be better?!

When the tide is coming in you get lulled to relax with the sounds of the waves and when it is going out you get the oyster catchers, curlew and heron fishing. An ever changing view and at night no night pollution so you can see the stars and if you are lucky the full moon shining across the bay towards the cottage. magic - but then I am biased ( and jealous that I am not there!!).
