Description
This semi-detached house is located in the hills of Santa Maria and is finished to a very high standard - from floor to ceiling wardrobes to Orthopedic mattresses - everything you need to make your stay comfortable has been looked after.
This year we have installed an outside terrace that more than doubles the useable external space. This is perfect for sunbathing and al fresco cooking/dining.
We have installed a TV service that includes channels from many countries including:
USA/Canada/UK/Italy/Germany/Netherlands/Spain/Australia/New Zealand/Polish/Czech and many other countries.
We have Broadband WIFI.
The local beach is a 8-10 minute walk (approx 600m). A short 5min drive to another called Groticelli Beach which is also beautiful. Located in a tranquil and peaceful area, yet only a 10min drive to the beautiful town of Tropea. The house has easy access to all amenities, including a local markets, with a butchers and bakery in Ricardi just 5 min drive away.
The house has a gated entrance to provide you with that additional security. It also has a pool with a separate children's swimming pool, and also a sandy volleyball area. There is a large gazebo for sun shelter.
There is also a children's play area including a slide and swings.
The pool is open from June - Sept.
Grocery pack is availablefor 40 euro on request and includes basics such as bread, milk, juice, eggs, wine (or your preference). Payable on arrival.

“A pleasant stay in a very different part of Italy”
We stayed at Sea View House in August of this year and had a pleasant stay once we found it!!Sea View House is not a house and the name is a little misleading. The property is indeed an apartment within a small and quiet complex opposite the Delta Residence in the hills of Santa Maria. It would be really helpful if the property had some signage outside as there was none and not only did we have trouble locating it but when picked up by taxis several times ,the drivers were very harassed that they could not locate us. The delta residence is where the shared pool, garden and loungers are located and this is indeed a delightful and restful area to relax on and the grounds are beautifully kept. The apartment itself was disappointingly smaller than we had anticipated. However, it was very clean with incredibly comfortable beds, mattresses and pillows. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of cooking utensils – means a lot to us as we love to cook when away. The large fridge/freezer was very welcome. The area is quiet and no disturbances were apparent. The property is located in the hills of Santa Maria and the local beach is about 10 minutes’ walk away but you would need to be extremely fit to make the walk back as it very steep and not at all pleasant as sadly there is problem with waste disposal in this part of the Calabrian region which resulted in unsightly piles of rubbish pile dumped on the roadside. This is real shame. You will most definitely require a car but don’t make the mistake we did. We hired a nine seater Mercedes to accommodate six of us and our luggage – the roads in this region are not built for large cars and there were some alarming journeys! We found some really nice local restaurants included Di Mercurio,Seaview restaurant an La pergola in Tropea.Tropea is nice to go to and there is a car park by the cemetery which was easy to park in even in August and as all the parking barriers were broken it was free! Five minutes’ drive from the apartment is Groticelli beach which be warned in August is heaving. Sun bed are 20 eurors a day to hire with an umbrella. You can park close to the beach .There is steep shelf into the sea once you have gone in a couple of feet so be careful if you have toddlers. The water is clear and the scenery rugged and beautiful – if you walk further round the beach it is quitter and the coves stunning – take a pedalo or small boat to appreciate the scenery from the water. We did three lovely day trips, one to Sicily , one to the Aeolian Islands and a day at sea on the Etika boat – fishing and swimming,amazing lunch. These were all booked with CTS agency in Tropea who were superb. Shopping– there is a “Big Market” in Santa Maria which stocks essentials ,we found the best option was Conad on the way to Tropea- here is where you can see the best sunset too! The owner Jason was really helpful and swift in communications. The booking system with Trip Advisor was not a good experience however, as messages kept not getting through .This was resolved once we had paid and could have direct access to Jason. I will most definitely not use Trip Advisor to book a property in the future.

“Fabulous Holiday Villa in a brilliant part of Calabria. Close to the beach too”
We had to attend a wedding in Spilinga. As the reception was being held in the Sunshine Hotel, we were looking for accommodation in the Capo Vaticano/Ricadi area. I travelled with my wife and 2 kids (5 & 7). The Management team contacted us well before the trip and gave us great directions to the villa. Even though it was spring, the weather was OK. It only rained a couple of times during our stay. Well it was March. The villa had 3 great bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Clean and modern.Having the 2 bathrooms was a godsend. It was close to the beach and I believe the pool is open later during the summer. The kids had enough entertainment at the local beaches and in Tropea. The restaurant staff are very child friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Cant reccommend this villa enough and we are seriously considering a summer visit next year.
