Description
The gite is located in the charming village of Le-Gua , 10 Km from the beautiful town of Royan, in the heart of The Charente Maritime. It has been fully renovated in 2005, and furnished to high standards. It sleeps 6 and has 108 m2 of living space. Ground Floor : Kitchen and dining room with all modern amenities.
Spacious and comfortable sitting room with a chimney. Double room with double bed, opening door on to the back garden. Spacious shower room. Independent toilet. First Floor : landing corridor, one double room with double bed and one double room with twin beds. Shower room and toilet. Secluded, sunny front patio. Spacious secluded back garden with plenty of space to enjoy the sunshine. Barbecue equipment and garden furniture provided. Private parking.
There is plenty to visit both on the coast and in the countryside. The nearest beaches are in Royan (10 KM) and Pontaillac, Saint Palais-sur-Mer (12Km). We recommend you a visit to La Tremblade and Marennes (11Km) where you can taste the delicious Oysters and the Eclade de Moules and there is the Cite de l'Huitre to visit The most stunning and secluded beaches are in Ronce-les-Bains, The Embellie, the Galon d'Or for instance, are highly recommended. The seaside area of La Palmyre has a lot to offer to families and has a big choice of affordable restaurants, seaside activities and entertainement. The Zoo of La Palmyre is one of the biggest in Europe. You will be able to discover the Cite de L'Huitre in the town of Marennes and taste the unique "Fines de claires" oysters from Marennes Oleron. The gastronomy is varied and has much to offer to the discerning visitor, you will enjoy the melons of Charentes, the Pineau, the Cognac and much more. The town of Cognac is a 2 hours drive from Le Gua and you will be able to plan your journey there through the pitturesque countryside and admire the amazing sight of the sunflowers in bloom at the height of the summer season.
Shops are within walking distance of the house in the village of Le-Gua : boulangerie/patisserie, boucherie, charcuterie, pharmacy, small supermarket. More shopping facilities and family major supermarkets (Super U, Lidl and others) can be found in the small town of Saujon which is approx. 5 Km drive from Le Gua.

Cleaning on departure : please kindly note the cleaning of the gite is the responsibility of the visitor and we ask you please take care of the cleaning before your leave and ensure the big dustbin is emptied and rubbish bags are disposed of or left outside the house for the rubbish collectors on the days specified. Cleaning facilities are available on demand on arrival and are not included in the rental price. The price is €14/hour.
A small welcoming cleaning kit is provided on arrival.
A couple of kitchen towels are provided.
Bed linen is included in the price but bath towels and kitchen towels are not included and can be hired.
The date of arrival is Saturday and the time is by 4:00 pm and we ask you to please advise in advance if you are likely to arrive later by calling Angelique on her mobile 033 6 623 915 96 to let her know the time of your arival
The date of departure is Saturday and the time is 10:00 am and we ask you to please respect this time as time is needed to prepare the gite for a next guest arrival.
